After dropping three straight decisions to start this Cup, I wrote it off EARLY. The Cracked Wheat lads bucked up and won three in a row, though, and now it looks like we go through on Point Differential over Chelsea in PA. (+18 to +13)

Of course, the fact that I have not one healthy starting striker doesn't bode well for further advancement now that the big boys lurk, but the squad may have saved Manager Jones his job.

Caldwell in with 15 points off the bench this week. Almost 8 times the production of Mr. Van Nistelrooy. Good game from Jensen certainly didn't hurt either...

Are we ready for our supplemental draft? What date and time can we do it? Do we need a new thread for this?

No league matches this week, we have a fantasy week on Tuesday and Wedneday and another one the following weekend.

Can we squeeze in the draft on Thursday and Friday of next week?

With an FA Cup game this weekend and the Champion's League about to start again, I'm really thinking Wenger needs to give Henry a couple matchdays off to rest up!

Very good idea, especially for the Liverpool match on Wednesday ;)

How many of the managers in this league will be interested in a similar one for MLS using the MFLS system? Live draft, private league page, the works...

We might have to do just a 6 team league, as we'll have a tough time all fielding consistent starters if we draft 8 squads each...and they don't have an automatic sub rule.

sounds like fun to me.

Sure, count me in.

Can you easily run two teams in MFLS?

Bump. Anybody have ideas on this?

I'm not sure. I'm assuming all it would take would be a second email address, even a brand new yahoo or hotmail one.

As for the draft, I'd like to wait until after the window closes on Friday, in case there are any last minute signings. I would think Sat and Sunday would be a good time to have it--Hal could begin as soon as the CYKI transfer window closes so as not to get the advantage of using McBride in that weekend's game.

That's what I was thinking. One team for our league and one to tinker with without any restrictions so to speak.

Nice, gutsy decision to go with Lampard as Captain this week, Mark. It must have been tough to take that label away from Henry, but it paid off bigtime.

I was hoping to just keep it close this week and maybe get a couple of my injured strikers back next week, but to no avail.

I am hoping my Reds can keep him from scoring this week. Went with the heart instead of the head this week. For once it paid off, until Henry hammers us tomorrow :(

Speaking of coaching moves in cup ties... Clanblue's brilliant decision to make Steve Watson may be the deciding factor in our semifinal. 26 points from him and a 13 point margin after Tuesday may be too much for LSG to overcome; I expect it is anyway. Well done!

No, no, no. You are just encouraging him. After Chelsea's comeback win and Watson's ton of points he is going to come swaggering on here so much that his big head will crash bigsoccer ;)

Anybody who picks a bluenose as his skipper needs his head tested :D

I notice on the VSM Roster page that Hal and Mark have proposed Friday at 7pm to start the draft in order to be able to use the players for this week's games. That would be fine, but I see a potential problem: Will CYKI have all the new signees registered by the time the window closes at 1am? I doubt it.

I guess we have to decide whether it is "fair" to hold a draft when many of the players might not be available for an extra week. One possibility is that we could just advise managers to factor that into their thinking.

However, that manager would still for forced to make "some" kind of move for the player in order to make the dropped player available down the line. So it gets kind of complicated...

We also need a list of players circulated here of who is available. McBride for example is listed on premierleague.com, are others, who is missing?

Through Wed. afternoon, these are what I see as "done deals." Only the ones with prices have been entered in CYKI's system yet.

Ballesta - BOL (F)
McBride - EVE (F) 4.5
Riggott - MID (D)
Christie - MID (F)
Eustace - MID (M)
El Khalej - CHA (D)
Sommeil - MCY (D) 3.4
Belmadi - MCY (M) 3.9
Toda - TOT (M)
Dugarry - BIR (F) 8.0
Clemence - BIR (M) 4.5
Coly - BIR (D) 4.2
Clapham - BIR (M) 5.5
Swierczeski - BIR (M)
Joh. Gudjonnson - AST (M) 5.0

Gresko - BLA (D) seems imminent...flew in Wed to have his physical...coming from Parma
