Group 1
Kopite Juniors 12
1800-UK.com 9
FOMUS 3
Cape Tribulation 0
Kopite Juniors have qualified.
A win for Cape Tribulation against FOMUS would mean 1800-UK.com also qualify.
1800-UK.com will qualify with another point on the board.

Group 2
Chelsea in PA 9
London St. Germain 6
Trollpop Aviation 6
Jones Cracked Wheat 3
Jones Cracked Wheat, looking for two more wins, could still help to decide the outcome of this group.
Chelsea in PA need to beat London St. Germain to be sure of qualification.
Wins for London St. Germain and Jones Cracked Wheat would take things to the wire.

With the transfer window just opened, there have already been five new premiership players added, although none have shown up as available in the fantasy soccer pool yet.
Should we have a draft process for the new signees?
If so, when? The transfer window closes Jan 30 or 31, but why wait until then.
Should we go in the reverse order of our original round one draft? Or, with FOMUS given the points he lost when he had to start his team over, should we go from worst to first in our division? It might also be a fair adjustment to add back in points used in transfers to make it a fairer process. For example, Trollpop Aviation, being very active in the transfer market should not automatically be awarded the first pick.
5 signees so far:
Coly BIR Senegalese World Cup defender on loan from Lens
Dugarry BIR French World Cup striker on loan from Bordeaux
McBride EVE USA World Cup striker on loan from MLS Columbus Crew
Ibrahim Said EVE Egyptian defender on loan from Al Ahly
Belmadi MCY Algerian midfielder on loan from Marseille
I look forward to response on whether we should have a draft process or just first come first served?

Personally I like the idea of a draft, and worst to first sounds good to me. Putting me last in line. :(
But I was second the first go around, so either way I would be near the end.
Issues might be if someone becomes available and someone inadvertly signs him before we start any draft or if someone becomes available after the draft is done (if we do it too soon).
Other ideas?
I'm copying here my proposed steps for a draft process for the transfer window signees. It's easier to post in here and it won't get lost as opposed to the premiership.com forum.
1. Fomus gets credit for the points he lost when restarting his team.
2. Team totals are adjusted to restore the points used in transfers.
3. Agree on one or two dates; recommend 2. Perhaps Jan 10 for the initial transfer window signees, and then Jan 31 after the window closes.
4. Make the draft worst to first with the adjusted scores for Jan 10 draft. If two rounds, then reverse it for the second round.
5. Make the draft on Jan 31 pick up where the Jan 10 draft left off in worst to first and reversing. The order will be determined by the scores now (adjusted as described above) and will not reflect later scores this month.
6. Once a person has drafted a player, he must immediately acquire the player and post what moves he made to acquire the player. This way, the other teams may opt to grab someone's cast offs.
7. We can hold the draft on a BigSoccer chat room on Friday night the 10th, so people can select the new draftees for games on the 11th.
8. Let's allow 10 min. for the draft pick and another 10 min. after the draft for managers to acquire the player and maybe make any trades before they have to release a player.
9. With a known draft order, players may trade to acquire a better draft position prior to the 10th.
10. Also, if a player held by one of the Very Small Rocks managers is transferred out of the Premiership, then I suggest they get an extra draft and it be before the other drafts. If two teams lose players, then go in the order of worst to first for the pre-draft picks.
Just thinking out loud here, open to further suggestions and amendments to my thoughts.

Hal's proposal sounds good.....
I suggest the draft be made as early as possible on Jan 10 (US time) because of the time difference in Europe.
Or you can make it in the early hours (3am US) Jan 11 and we'll be awake.

For #2 I definitely disagree. The transfer point system is a major factor in our league. There is no "alternate" reality in which it does not exist. Many managers other than Trollpop take this into consideration when judging their long term moves. This rule would penalize them for that.
As for that date, I'll be travelling again, but it does probably make sense. I guess I'll just have to go with the draft list again and hope. I'm guessing there will only be a round or two anyway...

I lke these ideas. Not so sure about the transfer points being added back in though.
Just a clarification here on point 6. If I pick somebody up in the draft, obviously I have to get rid of someone already on my team. Does this existing player go into the draft available for the next person to choose from or are they off limits until the whole draft is done. Then it is a free for all?
I guess we need a procedure for the offcasts as well as the newly available players.
I took a look at what the proposed adjustments for transfers might look like. I think Jay misunderstood my purpose in this proposal. I was trying to avoid gaining an advantage because Trollpop Aviation has been so active in the transfer market, at 4 pts per transfer on many occasions. Thought it would be better if I factored out that voluntary loss in determining the worst to first draft order.
As it turns out, the adjustment makes very little difference.
I still don't know how many points FOMUS had for the first 4 game weeks, since he had to re-register his team on game week 5. Absent that, this would be my proposed draft order.
1. FOMUS 439 pts plus 1st 4 weeks.(no trf adj)
2. Trollpop Aviation 623 (incl +80 adj for trf)
3. Cape Tribulation 638 pts (has no adj)
4. Jones Cracked Wheat 641 pts (incl +32 adj)
5. London St. Germain 646 pts (incl +8 adj)
6. 1800-UK.com 711 pts (incl +32 adj)
7. Chelsea in PA 712 pts (incl +16 adj)
8. Kopite Juniors 831 pts (incl +16 adj)
The only impact in draft order due to transfer adjustments would have Jones Cracked Wheat drafting 4th instead of 3rd. JCW and Cape Tribulation swap draft positions.
Jay brought up a good point about providing lists if unable to make the draft, but what about the idea of adding the player to your team 10 min after selection? If unable to make the draft, and gave a list, then you'd also have to provide password access to a proxy and instructions on who to drop, etc. That seems too complicated to me.
I was proposing it would be a free for all for the players dropped to acquire the draftees.
In the meantime, if you agree to the above draft order, or reverse Jones Cracked Wheat and Cape Tribulation, depending on FOMUS adjustment for the missing scores of the first 4 weeks, I either have the first or second draft pick. Anyone want to offer me a trade for my pick?
Goater, Bernabia, Schmeichel, Veron, Carsley might be available for the right player and with finances that work. For a top player I might even make two moves to complete a trade.

FOMUS has 212 to be added.
On point 6:
Once a player is discarded I think he should be made immediately available in the pool, for the next player(s).
Sitting near the bottom of the queue, we will only be ripe for the discards.
Thankfully I don't fancy anyone on the list yet.
After Jan 10, are all other newcomers (until Jan 31) off limits to our league?
What happens if players aren't in the CYKI system by Jan 10, even though they've already signed terms?
