I just had to do what you did last week and incured a 4 point deduction (and boy does that p1ss me off) because of the surgery that Friedel is going to have.

Update on the league forum.

Reports are that Freddie L. might be injured too, let's hope so (cue evil laugh)

Jeezzzz i hope not mate.
Finding replacements in the drafted legue is proving tough.Replacements that will earn points on a regular basis anyway.
I guess thats what makes it all the more enjoyable and quite a bit harder.

The Big Soccer league i use for fun-as you can see by the numerous transfers i have.

According to this report: http://www.soccernet.com/england/news/2002/1118/20021118afcljungberg.html

it's a wait and see situation.

Nope, he's still plugging away at it. Just had some bad early season luck, and made some poor decisions going with strikers like Kanu and Baros who weren't everyday starters.

As for Chloe, that soccer managing whiz who is kicking all of our butts...

I smell a Thierry Henry injury coming. :D

Has Splarg given up on this league as well? He hasn't made any moves since creating the new FOMUS team. Does he realize we are still counting his earlier 212 pts?

Hmm...
Why couldn't the hackers have targeted our Very Small Rocks league standings page instead. Say, taken 100 pts off Kopite's total?

Despite losing both match-ups this week.... Kopite Juniors lifts the silverware.... one cup in each hand!

League Cup:
Kopite Juniors
London St. Germain
(61-50) (43-49) (58-40) (39-30) (35-40)

Kopite Juniors wins by 27 points

FA Cup:
FOMUS
Kopite Juniors
(26-61) (42-43) (31-58) (33-39) (42-35)

Kopite Juniors wins by 62 points

darnit. If only our proposed full team transfer had gone through, LSG might have had a chance. So now I propose a mandatory, 50-point penalty to Kopite for silverware-hogging.

I think the wheels are coming off this team. We limped to victory at the end and some stupid transfer mistakes cost me another 4 points too.

Ready for the next contest? See: http://bengal.missouri.edu/~adamsm/lfc/smallrocks.htm

We start next weekend.

After getting knocked out of both cups by Kopite Juniors, we'll be looking for revenge in this league :)

The following are the point totals scored by the 15 players on each of the teams in the Very Small Rocks Division:

Raw scores were adjusted as follows:

Pires +25
Beckham +15
Fowler +50
Ziege +20
Ljungberg +10

Michel and Paul and got the deepest teams going into the second half of the season.

Focusing on just the likely starters, Hal, Michel, Mark, and Paul lead that list. This reflects who is likely to get out of the blocks fastest, but not an overall predicter since injuries could have a significant impact here.

Michel has a significant advantage on the team value flexibility going into the second half of the season with Mark, Jonathan, and Paul leading the peloton.

Overall, composite predictions, totally subjective:

1. Michel's 1800-UK.com
2. Paul's Chelsea in PA
3. Mark's Kopite Juniors
4. Hal's Trollpop Aviation
5. Jonathan's London St. Germain
6. Brian's FOMUS
7. Maverick's Cape Tribulation
8. Jay's Jones Cracked Wheat

I do like the way you work on the stats so efficiently, Hal..... but I hate the way I get the pressure put on my lot.

I'd rather be in Jay's position and be able to spring a few surprises.

In a drafted league, having the Team Value is only worth something when others are willing to sell..... which is proving hard with a couple of our managers prepared to sit on their hands and ride whatever, even if it means fielding four injured players for a few weeks on the trot.

I have noticed Paul racing up the table, although I fear that the next challenge will come from lower down.... from Trollpop Aviation (who's lowly position is very deceiving) or London St. Germain.

Jones Cracked Wheat could still get a few lucky weeks and be in the thick of the action too.... even without any spending power.

Looking forward to an exciting Christmas. Shame they don't list double games though as that could spark up the transfer market.

It's interesting too that Cape Tribulation is doing reasonably well; despite not touching his team.

I did a search on Outback Maverick and he has only posted 4 times on Big Soccer since we started the league.Maybe he's not mad at all and just can't find the time to log on as often as we can.

That second spot of yours looks very challenged Michel :)

I must say i am quite enjoying this drafted league. It is quite a challenge. The only complaint i have about the whole system is the Captain thingy.
I just don't agree with the double points.
But, thats just me.

I love the double points for captain..... I just wish I had my best player as captain every week.

Get the captain right and half the battle's won :)
