Head to head for the group would only require 6 weeks to complete and then at most another 6 for the semi-final and final itself.
12 weeks in all to complete, so we have lots oftime left to play.

Agreed.

So we can start this in gameweek 13. Michel, is that ok with you?

I am not ignoring this, we got off on a tangent on Champs League planning.

It seems like it is too late to do anything like this for our existing teams, but we could either wait for next season or start 8 more teams and do this from January onwards. (I am not sure my head can deal with yet another fantasy team!!)

As for encouraging trading, this might prove difficult unless you "had" to offer one player from a certain position each week or something. Goalies one week, defenders the next, etc.

Other ideas?

Finally, I notice that Cape Tribulation has only made a single transfer, way back in September.

I think Outback Maverick got put off with the Jenas affair in week 1 :D

As for more trades..... hard to do at 4 points a throw and not a lot of speculating in the financial market.

However, even within our constraints there are still some cagey moves to be made and profits to be gained.

The 1800-Uk.com team is worth 102.8

Kopite Juniors .... 101.8

FOMUS .... 101.0

London St. Germain .... 100.8

Trollpop Aviation .... 100.8

Chelsea in PA .... 100.7

Only Cape Tribulation and Jones Cracked Wheat are currently on 100.0

No-one posting a loss at the moment :)

With both cup finals starting this weekend, Craig Bellamy is fit and raring to go (at least I hope so).

Fortunately I resisted the temptation to sell him when he came to the US for his doctor to look at his knee.

After his performance in the Champs League yesterday (and against Italy last month) I am hoping Robson lets him play at least 60 minutes :) this weekend.

He has warmed my bench too long. Now, who to drop?

Strange.

Last seasons second leading scorer and winner of the previous season, is still unclaimed.

Well I was down in the negs for a bit there, to 99.7 even at one point, I think, so 100 is looking pretty good to me about now.

Regarding trades, I think we just have to accept that they will be very rare this season, and perhaps tinker next year if we try again.

I'll still be trading..... and tempting Hal to pick up my rejects :)

I was bored at work and created the Champs League contest we were talking about.

I have it starting on December 21.

I assigned each team a number 1 to 8 and then drew the numbers. Hope that's ok.

Group 1
1800-UK.Com
FOMUS
Kopite Juniors
Cape Tribulation

Group 2
London St. Germain
Jones Cracked Wheat
Chelsea in PA
Trollpop Aviation

Thank god Seaman was out this week. That'll bring in Macho off the bench for Jones Cracked Wheat, with his 12 pts for stoning Liverpool all afternoon.

Harte has been sent packing, btw. My top draft picks have continued to unravel...would have been a great team LAST season, but Robert, Beckham, Harte, and Hasselbaink have all been major duds so far this year. Now Becks is out a few weeks for broken ribs...he just might have to hit the market as well.

Did I mention that I was pleased with my top pick? Henry as captain was a huge bonus this weekend. :D

With Gerrard and Bellamy on the bench I am languishing outside the top 100 right now :D
