...with a difference.

Throughout this season, I want match reports consisting only of Haikus. One for each half of every game. Why? No reason ... it's neither my idea, nor is the first offering below my own, but it struck me as oddly amusing whilst pondering it yesterday afternoon.

So -

Spurs v Liverpool

A new dawn breaks
Boy Wonder memories eclipsed by
A Djibrilliant strike

Strolling in the sun
Old habits die hard, but still
A new beginning

(**thinks ... this thread might be hilarious. Or it might die on its arse within a week.**)

are you looking for just 17 syllable stanzas or something that confines to the traditional 5-7-5?

The sun rises high
memories of the past are
replaced by the new

We sit silently
as the familiar return
with a plan to change

Not too fussed about syllable accuracy. Just a bit of fun. Although purists may act as they feel necessary. ;)

Passing and moving,
New boys looking good -- Stevie's
Penalty denied

Mood slowly darkens,
FloPo angers ref, Jermaine
Defoe angers me.

Didn't see the tilt
Pissed on the Big Easy streets
Saw the highlights, though

Too defensive, late.
Xabi resembles Bacon,
Worthy of a chance?

New guy on the right.
Let's unload Finnan . . . whoopsie!
Raffa takes the field?

Elf is bored today.
Time to do what he's best at:
Incessant bitching.

guys, izzit haiku?Well, the first one is 3-4-4, so not really. The second one you nailed.

Can we agree to stick to 5-7-5 in this thread, and not stray into the relativist bullsh!t forms like 3-5-3 and 7-9-7?
