This lineup is certainly subject to change but .......

---------Dudek
Hoseme ---H--Carra----JAR
Finnan----SG---EyeGor---Harry
-------Baros---Cisse

Subs:
Kirkland
Hamann
Henchoz
FSP
Nunez
Warnock

If on team and available, Alonso replaces Eyegor and and Garcia for Finnan. I put EyeGor in the lineup because I think Rafa will want to attack more at home and because DiDi didn't show me much at Spurs. Feel free to dispute!

I'm thinking Perhaps Pongolle & Hamann in place of Biscan and Finnan. I'm still not sure what Finann's place is. He's good to move up just past midfield but a winger he's not. I prefer him in defense.

I agree with your line up. I don't remember Hamann's name being called once during the game. Of course I did take a couple of 5 minute naps during the game since I was fighting the 4:30 am wake up so he may have done something then.

Anyway is the game on ppv this Saturday?

My lineup would be:

Dudek
Josemi-Hyppia-Carra-Riise
Gerrard-Biscan-Hamann-Kewell
Baros-Cisse

I hate putting Gerrard out on the right, but we would be a better team with him out there. I think Finnan really kills our attacks and is a major weakness, while Biscan can do a job for us in the middle. This would obviously only be temporary, but I think we are really hurt by having Finnan out there.

I dunno, first half with Spurs Finnan looked pretty good and he set up the goal. It is true, he's not a winger.
For what it's worth though, Baros has to do a lot better and FSP didn't accomplish a damned thing last game. We DO need another striker ASAP...!!!

Finnan was & always will be the weakest link.

Lets give them both a chance.
Someone does need to bitch slap Pongy with his on the field bs I agree! I've seen him get on the refs bad side at spurs and the celtic game.

What does everyone think about a lineup like this...

-------------Kirkland------
Josemi--Hyppia--Carragher--Riise
--------------Hamann--------
----------Gerrard--Alonso
new signing-----------Kewell
------------Cisse-----

Not this week against City, but as a future lineup for tough European games or road games against the Premiership elite. It would be very difficult to break through our midfield with 3 strong tackling players. Gerrad and Alonso could have enough creativity to get us some goals. If we get a good right midfielder we would be quite balanced as well. In the Premiership I would stick with a 4-4-2, but I could see a lineup like this helping us go far in the Champions League.

Definitely! The last thing needed is to antagonise the refs. We want the benefit of the doubt and getting them riled up is not the way to do it! ;)

No... They just don't like players who give them lip... (Danny Mills anyone?)

Saviola on a lona and with the price tag Barca will put on his head - wasn't he one of if not the highest paid Barca players last year - I think make it highly likely that we'd be serious players.

As for this weekend, if what Sky puts forth is true, figure something like:

-------------Dudek-------------
Josemi--- Carra - Hyypia---Riise
Nunez--Gerrard--Alonso--Kewell
-------Baros------- Cisse

There are plenty of black players in the EPL that don't appear to draw the same negative attention from referees. I think FSP is young and is still learning the ropes. As for Diouf, he's historically had challenges with discipline and attitude.

I agree 100%.
In the spurs game FSP gave the ref more than enough lip. 5 minutes later when FSP burst into the box and didnt even touch the defender the ref blew the whistle against FSP.
You have to be smart in the EPL and that was not very smart. Like someone said on this thread - He is young. He will mature and get better.

i still think some refs are biased. esp 1 or 2 of them noticeably favouring MU.

I like it.....

Well there you go, two of us, it's been approved. Good call...!

I hope Baros can step it up a notch and get together with Cisse
