A game I await eagerly... hope they show it in TV...
Real must take care of Assunçao and try not to make fouls nearby to the area, cuz this guy shoots damn well. RC must take care of Joaquin, too, and mustn't be too offensive. Finally, if our forwards -probably Raul and Guti- score a decent percentage of chances, we should win despite the opposition being formidable.

I think that if both team played at the same level that they played in the first "la liga" game, this could be with facility one of the best games of the year.
The Betis has a great coach (Victor Fernandez) and a great team with very good players like Joaquin and Assunçao. In the game against the Deportivo they passed over the "Gallegos". And it's very dificult to win so easy in the Deportivo's home. If the team mantain that level they are serious candidates to play the CL the next year.
For me, The Real played one of the best soccer minutes in many time against the Español and if the team play at that level is very dificult that we lost the game. But will be a very hard game.
I think that can be a game with many goals because both teams play a very offensive soccer.

Hmmm, Betis plays offensive soccer, but they know how to press the rival very well. Madrid should move the ball quickly and have patience.

UEFA (http://www.uefa.com/footballcentral/news/Kind=16/newsId=33678.html)Spain round-up: Lights go out on Madrid
Tonight's big game between Real Madrid CF and Real Betis Balompié in Seville had to be suspended after 44 minutes due to floodlight failure at the Benito Villamarín stadium.

All the week waiting to see this game to see this "Lopera Show" . A thing like this only could happen with this "little person" near.
First the game begins with ten minutes delay because there isn't light. Later during the game, the play is stoped because the light comes and goes away . And finally the light fail at 44 minute. WHAT A SHOW.How this can happen in a first division team in a almost new stadium. I have never seen a thing like that in all my life.
The game will be played in a future date (not determined yet) if the "Señorito Andaluz Lopera" don't make another of his Show. The delayed game will begin at minute 44 of the first half with 1-0. The game can be played for all the player that belonged to the clubs the day of the suspesion, it includes Ronaldo.

According to the rules they will have to play the game beginning in the 44' minute with Betis leading 1-0. The same players must be on the pitch unless they are injured.

Obviously being a merengue you do not understand the ****************** we Beticos put up with Lopera! If he doesn't have a say in everything that happens in the club it doesn't happen. I'm sure since he is a tacanho in lots of things, he decided to go cheap on the circuits at the stadium so he could save a few bucks after shelling out millions for Denilson and it was those cheap circuit breakers that caused the malfunction.
Consider yourself lucky not to have a Presi like Lopera. He's the only Presi I know to have a bust of himself in the stadium while he is still alive!

gentlemen, there have been a lot of posts about what will happen with the remaining 46 minutes of the game, but nothing on how Madrid played in the 44 minutes that were completed. So poor souls like me who didn't see the gam are wondering i this will be another year like the last one where we keep getting beaten by everyone and play crap in the league. I know that Betis scored but how did WE play?
By the way, call me mad but I believe that Betis will finish this year no lower than 3rd. I put some money last week on Arsenal winning the Premiership AND Betis finishing in the top 3. Quite good odds on that :)

Well, specially the midfield and Roberto Carlos. After seeing the first 44 minutes, IMO any of the two teams could have scored.
But Hierro commited yet another fatal miss and gifted the ball to Capi who finished perfectly.
And our striking pair (Raul & Morientes) hasn't performed well in all the preseason and this was not an exception. Why not playing one of our excellent subs?
