Well the Olympics proper begin today. So in light of this, who are your country's hopefuls?, what are your medal chances?, what events will you be following?

My forecasts for South Korea of the categories I love:
Football - hopefully a bronze(crossing my finger)
Taekwondo - Sweep of the golds for sure
Judo - a couple of golds
Boxing - maybe a silver or a bronze
Wrestling - couple of golds
Sailing - no chance in hell, but I will be rooting for Korea regardless
Handball - possibly bronze
Field Hockey - possibly bronze
Fencing - couple of golds
As for the rest of the sports we're participating in, i don't have interest in them so i couldn't care less. Although, archery is also one that will sweep the gold for Korea.
There will be 300(I think) South Korean athletes competing in this Olympics.

I like swimming cuz they show under water camera shots & you can see the girls in their tight swimmers.
I also like gymnastics & any other sport that shows girls dressed in tight spandex/leotards.
Ooh,beach volley ball as well cuz they also wear those tight skimpy outfits.
:D

Saudi participation is much more modest. We've got only 20 athletes competing. Mostly in Athletics. We have 2 in equestrian, 4 weight lifters, 1 swimmer, 1 archer, and the rest are track athletes.
As for medal chances, they're pretty slim, but I think we got a medal in equestrian and archery in Sydney, so we might get something there. Hussein alSabe' is strong hope in the long jump. He's currently #2 in the world rankings. Hadi So'an got us silver in the 400mH last time, but he's faded in the last year, so I'm not sure. Hamdan alBishi was a great prospect for 400m, at youth level he recorded the fastest time for a junior since the legendary Michael Johnson. But he hasn't yet made the transition at senior level. Reaching the final is as much as I can expect of him. Mohammed aSalhi is a great prospect, but I think it's still too early. He's too young. That's about it.

You hear about Yao Ming's boast?
If China dont reach the quarterfinals in the olympic basketball tournament, he won't shave for 6 months.
Imagine...that would be fun to watch. Not that I want China not to make the quarterfinal.

I think Hadi So'uan has a good chance of a medal, and probably a bronze in equestrian, hopefully we can get around 3-6 medals this year.

My forecasts for South Korea
Not cheer for N Korea? In the opening ceremony, South & North Korea (again) paraded together.
By the way, the last runner with the torch did not light the Olympic flame (at least it didn't look he did on TV screen.)

Why would I cheer for North Korea, silly woman?Because, as you said, I'm silly, sorry. I just wanted to know if it's really happening between two countries, or just a pose in front of the media in the big ceremony. Thanx for showing me the truth.

Normally in sports I mildly support North Korea but yeah the marching together is a bunch of bulls**t.
But who knows maybe our players can indoctrinate them so they can go home and say something and get hanged. More likely our players with their mild hearts etc. will get brainwashed by the North Koreans.
Urrgh.
I want to see the Taeguki out there now some white flag with a blue Korea map on it!!!!
