They will win. Although it is going to be hard because they don't have many superstars like they did in Sydney 2000.

There's a thread for this in the Olympic forum.

IN 92 they won it easy
In 1996 it was harder
And in 2000 they barely won it.
And this year, they may, but other teams are getting stronger.
I would say 50 50

They should. To put it in soccer terms, the US basketball team may no longer be a combined Brazilian/Argentine/Italian/German/Dutch/English/French/Spanish side the way it was in 1992, but it's still, say, a South American all-star squad.

The other team probably did get stronger but the reason USA losing matches is because many All-NBA player doesn't want to play in Olympic. Around 1992 many Good NBA player did want to play in Olympic while now...no one really wants to play it.
I don't know why U.S Superstar player doesn't want to play in Olympic

That's a completely worthless analogy.
WRT the thread question: if they lose, it won't be to Australia.

Richard Jefferson just signed a contract exstension for $78 million dollars and he can't even nail down a ********in' 20 footer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Metrocorazon,
Favor tio...why care???....cuz hoops and the beautiful game are the two cheap/easy to understand/easy to play alone or with friends/globally appreciated sports.
+ the fact that our record going into this years event was like 109-2.
These b!tches have now lost more games in one month than the U.S. ever lost in 70 years!!!
I gotta be honest and say that and the fat contract mentioned above pisses me off.
