ATTAQUANTS
Djibril Cissé (Liverpool)
Pierre-Alain Frau (Lyon)
Sidney Govou (Lyon)
Thierry Henry (Arsenal)

Where's Mèxes?
I would have liked the new guy to give a chance to Bernard from Newcastle.
Otherwise, I'm happy to see so many France based players and some much needed new blood on the squad.

mmmm. new side form the one from euro 2004....
I would play (please feel free to discuss.) My opinion, to see how well they hold together.
Goal: Coupet
DL: Evra
DR: Mendy
DC: Squillaci
DC: Boumsong
MR: Pires
ML: Rothen
MC: Pedretti
MC: Vieira
FC: Cisse

Completly new back four after they've mostly retired... Should be intersting. Govou and Frau? - Pierre-Alain hasn't really done it for me. He's good but not international quality.

I put in Gallas instead of Boumsong. The rest I don't mind
Also, I call up one more midfielder (how about Sablé from St-Étienne? :D) and send back a defender.
Edit: Ok, I found my midfielder. Micoud from Weder Bremen and I put him in instead of Pedretti.

Trezeguet never impressed me so I sure don't mind. The other could be Dacourt, which again never captured my imagination.

Mexes's current club problems might be keeping him off the national team. I dont think he's offically signed and sealed to Roma even though he's playing for them. Their were some problems with the transfer between Roma and Auxerre. Believe it or not there are some Lyon fans out there who still think they will land Mexes. They think the transfer will be voided and he'll be sent back to Auxerre and then sold to Lyon.

L'equipe mentioned Trezeguet, Guily, Mexes, Dacourt, and Dhorasoo were already excluded before the list was made up.
Also, I thought Frau was Swiss.

the transfer is already voided, Mexes won't go to Roma and for now he's staying with Auxerre

:D I forgot about Mexes....
Yeah Dacourt is okay, but this side should be interesting. Possibly the schematics for the future side come world cup 2006?

Yeah Gallas is good. But his position is better out wide. Boumsong also plays a similar position. I too would prefer Micoud, strange his non-selection.
Sable was outstanding in the second division last season, but he must prove his worth this year.
Also it will be interesting when Guily comes back into the side. Possibly he will take the role left by Zizou.

BIH players called for match against France:
Kenan Hasagić (Gaziantepspor),
Almir Tolja (Bregenz),
Nermin Šabić (Vatai Čangčun),
Asim Šehić (Pula 1856),
Emir Spahić (Šinik),
Elvir Bolić (Genčerbirligi),
Zlatan Bajramović (Fraiburg),
Dragan Blatnjak (Hajduk),
Mirsad Bešlija (Genk),
Saša Papac (Austria Beč),
Hasan Salihamidžić (Bayern Munich),
Sergej Barbarez (Hamburg),
Vladan Grujić (Koln),
Elvir Baljić (Galatasaray),
Zvjezdan Misimović (Bochum),
Ivica Grlić (Dujzburg),
Muhamed Konjić (Derby County),
Vedin Musić (Modena) i
Branimir Bajić (Partizan).
Unfortunatley, today, two of our startes on defence will not be able to play because of injuries. (Konjic and Music)
Our likley formation will be a 4-2-3-1, and here is my guess at the starting lineup:
----------------------- Bolic-------------------------
--------Baljic----------Barbarez--------Salihamidzic---
--------Grujic-------------------------Bajramovic--
-----Spahic-------Papac----Crnogorac------Beslija--
----------------------Hasagic----------------------
We look abit weak and unexperienced at the back..so I dont know how that will work out..upfront, defensive midfield and forward after that, we look good.
I will say, 2-1 France.

Ouf... that's a big break for France :)
Honestly, I'm a bit ashamed by the fact that other than Salihamidžić I've never heard of these guys... :(
Unfortunetaly for Bosnia, they'll face a motivated team which will want to impress now that the old cadres are gone.
France 3-0

Well, dont blame you because the soccer world is so huge and there are so many players, leagues, etc, so its hard to follow it all.
Our main player, as you know, Salihamidzic, he's been a key player for Bayern Munich for a long time. He's accomplished a lot. He's played the most games out of any regular time player at Bayern.and Hittzfield thought he was their most important player.
Barbarez led the German league in goals few seasons ago..very solid midfielder that has a good balanced game.
Baljic in 99 or so was the biggest transfer in for Real Madrid, the idea was for him to play with Raul, thats the quality he has, unfortunatley he got injured soon after, major injury (6 months) and went out of the plans, they had to move on. Injuries have unfortunatley stopped him from a lot of things. Last year he went go Galatasaray, and again a MAJOR injury, once again the coach had to move on and get new players because he was out so long. This year though, he is fit, and with a new coach, Hagi, he knows his quality so he is back to the top 11. I think he may have the most natural quality out of any of ours players.
Bolic He is our all time leading scorer for the NT..about 40 Caps and 17 goals or so. That is great considering our nation is just over 12yrs old, and we have gone through a war, so our NT was crappy at first, but he scored a lot. He is most well known playing for Fenerbache..those days when Moldovan was there too...they were a great tandem. He is like a king in Turkey.
Bajramovic One of our younger players, very hard working defensive midfielder, again well balanced game, and will likley move from Freiburg to a much better team in Germany or somewhere else by the winter transfer period. Many clubs were after him late last season, but he got injured.
Our top 11 are all pretty solid: Konjic in his prime played for Monaco..really hard working d-man, huge guy, great in the air. You might know him.
We have a lot of good young and up and coming strikers: Ibisevic, Misimovic, Blatnjak, Sehic, Skoro.
Ibisevic at PSG now...Misimovic at Bochum..Blatnjak at Hajduk.. Skoro at GAK (yes, the one that played for Marseille very early on in his career) and Sehic at Pula (Croatia)
It should be interesting..quiet a new squad for France, which I think is a good thing for you guys...and we also want to test some new players.(especially at the back)
Hibic retired (Athletico Madrid) and Konjic is old (34yrs) and has some injuries so we need some new guys in there.
I think the reason you guys have done poorly the last few major competitions is that the key group of players still around have accomplished everything, (Euro and WC) and they just didn't have enough hunger and urgency as much as other countries. You need some new blood, some new prospects, who not only love playing for their country but want to badly prove themeselves.

Thank's for the "run-down" on your team's players, Bosanac.
Very usefull as I, as well, am not familiar at all with them
(sorry...).
Also, I agree with what you wrote in your last paragraph: I am actually
quite happy to see this team start from (almost) scratch again.
Exciting times...

I e-mailed TV5 last night and today they said they're not airing it. I have my fingers crossed GOLTV will air it, but I haven't seen anything about it so I doubt it...

where do you live? I emailed TV5 (Quebec/Canada) and they are not showing the game. However, on http://www.soccertv.com, it says that TV5 (Etats-Unis) United States, is showing the game.
I'm in Canada, so that doesn't help me. Doubt it will be on GolTV.

Yeah Gallas is good. But his position is better out wide.
Absolutely not. As someone who's watched a lot Chelsea games, I can assure you Gallas is a better CB than he is a RB. Considerably. He tends to drift inside too much as a RB, which often creates problems (like Pires's goal at Stamford Bridge in the first leg of our CL matchup with Arsenal). Its not like you've a ton of other players who can play in the middle. I would think Mexes and Gallas are almost the default starting pairing after the Euros. Unless you want *snort* Silvestre back in there?

Chicago, and I stated this to them and they said they're not airing it. But the reply seemed as though TV5 as a whole was not airing it.
