Does anyone know when these go on sale? Although it will be sad to see the team sans Zizou (though, the last time I did see him play was the brilliant game against England in the Euros), I will be in town on 9 October and would love to catch this game.

A couple of quick questions - it appears that Ticketnet.fr is handling the sales - do they ship to the US? And how easy is it to get from Paris to Saint-Denis/Stade de France? (I'm assuming it's a stop on the Metro or a rail line, but I just figured I'd check in case I'd need to rent a car.)

Cheers

It costs €10 extra to ship outside US - order early! I usually get a friend to order them for me and i collect them on the day. Same trick I pull in moscow.

It all depends where you're staying, to be honest. You can buy a metro rail ticket and ride the nearest station to "St Denis - Porte de Paris" on the lovely green 13 route.

Or try the RER, which the nearest line is "Stade de France - Saint Denis" on line D. Or try "La pleine Stade de France." on line B

eep... also may want to try Bus routes 139, 153, 173, 255, 350. From what i can remember, i'm not sure if they run from the centre - possibly from the north.

Basically St Denis is just outside of central Paris (about 10km). You could walk it if you wanted a picturesque view of the french capital in all its glory. Or if you wanted to die of boredom....

Best bet, get a cab (early! otherwise you could be locked in traffic - especially in the centre of Paris.) I usually get a bus when travelling to the Parc de Princes. However I have a lovely student card (not expired) that I still use.

I used the Metro to go to cup final last year and it was a bit hectic but not many problems.

The match will kick off around 20:45, so bear this in mind.

If you want to travel by car, then you can buy a parking ticket from the above website you mentioned. Don't try to find a parking space in Saint Denis ffs..... If you find one - err its not safe - sorry but its the truth. Its pretty easy to get to however:

off highway A1 exit 2 - stade de france - or off the A86 exit 9 - La pleine de Stade de France.

I don't know french roads - i'm sorry - i don't drive...

good luck anyways.

a parisian police officer in a traffic jam would be called a "un cochon dans un bouchon - Ganu Paris 99' - ahh memories.... :D

Ganu -

Damn, man! Thanks! Unfortunately, everyone I know in France has either come to the States or is out of the country around that time. Eh, it's worth the $13 or so to get the tickets sent abroad.

The ticket site has a service where they e-mail you when tickets go on sale - hopefully I'll be able to get a couple for this match.

Just a heads up - these are on sale now. Cat 5s are gone, lots of Cat 4s for €30 a pop... €10 shipping to the States - no service fees...
