Comments on the squad? Seems as though Klinsmann hasn't really taken any risks.

Eh I'm not liking this team. No Huth and no Hitlsperger in the squad. Nowotny still there and I bet he'll get a start. Germany isn't going to change at this pace.

I look at it as a gratuitous look at the team for Klinsman. I agree that Novotny will probably not be in the 06 team but is probably there for the "veteran mentoring the newbies"

Eh, at least he left out Bobic, right? ;)
Lauth should be given a chance and I really wish Freier, Hitzlsperger and Huth were there.

Lauth is still recovering from his broken foot and isn't scheduled to play for his club for at least a couple more weeks. What the heck has happened to Kuranyi. He's not even first choice at Stuttgart anymore.

Fahrenhorst and Borowski are surprise picks, but not necessarily the young blood we need.

I have yet to Lauth. Would somebody give me the skinny on this guy? Yeah what is up with Kuranyi?--He lose his mojo?

Klinsman should also try Gorlitz. He did great with Bayern in preseason and in his first game against Hamburg. With him on the right and Lahm on the left they can constatnly push up the wings and support the strikers.

Yes i got to ask what Thomas Hitzperger needs to do to earn some caps? Was last season not enough? See thats what i liked about Klinsmann, i thought he'd bring a fresh look at everyone and everything.
Huth also desevres a shot, though I can say he still probabley needs more playing time with Chelsea or another team, before hes really given a shot.
I do got to give appluase for Frank Fahrenhorsts selection. he is a great defender and deserves a shot.

Don't know my mind.
But what I'am waiting for is a break, a break with Ziege and such other players. Wow, in this year we had player for the side and for free kicks, sometimes helpful vs reams like Latvia, but they stay at home. Germany can reach a lot more without this munich dictation.
And Klinsmann runs the same way, there's nothing changed.
Well, I`ld like more to watch a Willi Landgraf in the German NT than some other.
The diferrent is, a Landgraf never give up a fight.
This is not an attack against Ziege, he don't played at the Euro, but vs. other not spirited souls in the team.

I liked what Klinsmann said at the press conference about the fact that there are so many players and everybody in Germany has a different squad in mind. He will also give the three goalies equal playing time. He said that he uses the Austria game only to get to know some of the players. Fahrenhorst was the best german defender last season and should have played at the Euro. So his nomination was the right choice. Borowski is great too and has improved alot since his last nomination 2 years ago. Why do so many people here want to see Huth in the national team? I didn't see him play for Chelsea but he played for Germany at the U21 Euro and sucked. Madlung was a lot better and there are others in the Bundesliga who are much better than Huth like Mertesacker or Gaede for example. Klinsmann wanted to nominate Görlitz as well but Magath said no just like with Deisler. If Christian Schulz is able to repeat his performances from last season i would like to see him play too but he's in Eilts' U21 squad.

Manuel Friedrich of Mainz is a nother young defender to look out for.

I think Hitzelsperger will join the team in tehe next months. At this time it´s normal that he is not nominated because premier league hasn´t started and so he is not in top condition.

Positive to see that Hamann is left off the squad, but maybe that`s because the EPL hasn`t started yet.
Klinsmann wanted to nominate Görlitz, but Bayern Coach Magath asked him to wait a while, since he has only played 1 Bundesliga game for Bayern so far. Klinsmann will probably nominate him for the Brazil match.
I am not disappointed with that squad. Klinsmann has two years, he doesn`t have to turn the squad upside down in first games, these changes (more younger players) will come automatically over the next months. I am very positive about that.

How about Sebastian Deisler?
SirManchester

Deisler is a given for Germany with his current form but Klinsman is playing it safe. He doesn't want to risk him getting injured, he is very fragile when it comes to that.
Fahrenhorst was great last season but I don't think he was the best German defender...not when LAHM IS IN CONTENTION! ;)

Amen Brother
Lahm is amazing.

Friedrich (Hertha Berlin) and Nowotny (Leverkusen) have been ruled out with injury over the weekend. Klinsmann has called up Huth (Chelsea) and surprisingly Linke (Bayern).
Ballack is the new captain for Germany.

Yes, Lahm is the best defender...pity we don t own him. If Ballack was made captain, could this mean that possibly Kahn could finally be swept aside for Hildy?

PERFECT! I hope Huth gets some time to prove himself now to permanently replace Novotny.
I'm glad that Balla is captain, another good move by Klinsman,
