Reza Manzoori

Acoustic guitar compositions

http://www.magnatune.com/artists/img/reza.jpg
Reza Manzoori was born in the year of the fire horse in Shiraz, Iran, a city famous for its wine, rose gardens, and poetry. He remembers an early affinity for music and rhythm, but didn't begin playing until rather late in life at 17 when he found an old guitar belonging to his sister in the basement of the house they lived in. The guitar had only the three treble strings. Still, this was more than enough to work with. "The first chord I ever learned was a D chord and I think it was because the guitar only had those three strings".
A Segovia cassette was another inspiration. "Finding a Segovia album in post-revolution Iran was not at all impossible, however to me it was more than a call to the understanding of the guitar. It was a call to the understanding of music itself. I realized that the guitar wasn't the instrument, but that music was, and the guitar was simply a tool for the instrument of Music."
Upon arriving to the United States Reza enrolled in Los Angeles Valley College. Throughout his attendance there he held first chair in both the LAVC Guitar Ensemble and the Monarch Guitar Quartet, an extension of the guitar department headed by Robert G. Mayeur. "Performing (solos) was a great lesson for me. Knowing that I had nothing but the music to play allowed me to forget that I was all alone up there."
His musical experiences are wide and varied. "I wanted to be a great guitar player, but more than that I wanted to be a great musician. And so music in all its forms became appealing to me. I thank my sister for leaving me that old guitar with three strings, and the Creator for blessing my ears. I sometimes wonder what might have happened had it been a didgeridoo."
Reza's new album 'ReStrung' is a collection of original songs that he has been "re-creating " for the past ten years. He has been heard to call them practice pieces. "On most of the songs on 'ReStrung' what you hear, minus the percussion, is one guitar track. So all these songs can be performed as solos. However, they would all work nicely as duets, or even trios and quartets."
Reza currently resides in North Hollywood, California.

A fine product (http://www.leenks.com/redirect.php?lid=1058) of Iran's Azerbaijan province!

Aylar was disqualified from Miss Norway when her past as a porn star was revealed. Now the Iranian born woman claims she is hunted by extremist Muslims who claim she has disgraced their people and their religion.

She's just probably being hunted by the lonely Turkish and/or Persian guys in Norway. :D

Fashion designer "Behnaz Sarafpour"

Behnaz Sarafpour's Spring 2005 Ready-to-Wear collection

By Janet Ozzard

NEW YORK--Holding a runway presentation on the main floor of Tiffany, early on a Sunday morning, invites a certain obvious comparison. So, Behnaz, was there a Holly Golightly spirit hovering above your spring collection? "Honestly, I thought that might be a bit hokey," the designer said backstage after her lovely show. "But I think a lot of people can relate to the idea of moving to New York, and creating a life here."
With any luck, that life will include something from this collection. Sarafpour, a Vogue/CFDA Initiative finalist, merged her clean American-sportswear sensibility with fabrics that ranged from the obvious (crisp cotton shirtings) to the exotic (beautiful kimono brocades imported from Kyoto). She put her own stamp on pieces like princess-seam dresses and tailored jackets, by keeping them close to the body but never restrictively so, and she showed some of the season's prettiest full skirts, in lightweight, tie-dyed cotton. And, thanks to her sponsor, it was all accessorized with glints of Tiffany jewelry.
For evening, Sarafpour made a leap into red-carpet land with stunning black jersey column dresses trimmed with spangly gold paillettes. And as for that ghost of Golightly -- Sarafpour summoned her via an impressive trench that came out in white, coral, and gleaming silver versions. The pattern, she said, was copied directly from the movie. "My trench has been one of my best sellers since I started three years ago. This year, I did it as a kind of ode to Tiffany."

John Truchard, Payam Zamani, and Behnam Behrouzi

Entrepreneur Magazine
November 2004

Young Millionaires: Class of 2004

http://www.reply.com
Company description: Online referral source for automobiles, real estate, home improvement and financing
Founders: "Behnam Behrouzi", 23, "John Truchard", 32, and "Payam Zamani", 33
Location: Walnut Creek, California
Projected 2004 sales: $20 million

Coming to America: The story of how Reply.com was founded has more twists and turns than a Hollywood movie. It begins with how Payam Zamani got from his home country of Iran to the United States. At age 16, Zamani was smuggled out of Iran to escape the extreme religious persecution that members of the Bahai Faith were subjected to. He came to America in 1988 with $75 and no knowledge of English.
Paint the Town: The entrepreneurial bug first bit Zamani during a summer as general manager of Student Works Program, a student-run painting franchise at the University of California, Davis, where he met fellow student (and future vice president of sales) John Truchard in 1992. "Since Payam and I both enjoyed the experience, it was natural for us to talk about future opportunities," says Truchard.
A Portal Is Born: Remember AutoWeb.com? A co-founder, Zamani left AutoWeb six months after taking it public in 1999. "I always felt that there was a lot left undone," he says. "I wanted to get back in there and rebuild that concept." And that's just what Zamani and his team did.
Next Step: In 2001, Next Phase Media was launched and later became Reply.com. Besides automobiles, Reply.com is a gateway for real estate, home improvement and financing. All the content is free to the consumer. Since Zamani's nephew, Behnam Behrouzi, had been an entrepreneur since high school, Zamani pulled him in. As CTO, Behrouzi played a pivotal role in building up the technology to power the new venture. "Our vision was to eventually do with services what Amazon did with products," says Behrouzi.
Going Public: The co-founders made the decision to not touch any VC financing, instead opting to bootstrap the business. That has paid off. Behrouzi, Truchard and Zamani have big plans for Reply.com. An IPO could be in the works early next year. "Five years from now, Reply.com [will] be a household name," says Truchard. At the rate they're growing, you can expect it to be even sooner. —A.C.K.

This was a few years ago and the Kurdish girl in question was about to marry her finance when some sort of "erotic dance" video of her surfaced and as a result her finance broke up with her and the depressed girl killed herself.

You can't find the video on the net and even if you could, why would you want to watch a video with such sad stroy attached to it?

Why do people watch the Oh Hyun-gyung (sp?) Baek Ji-Young, or Paris Hilton video? Because they can.

Did the video contain nude shots of her or was it just some suggestive dancing? Either way, I feel bad for her.
