More moves to follow!!!
Kopite Juniors nods expectedly.
We are aware of Mr Crouch, lanky beanpole that he is. Fortune a shrewd cheap buy for a team likely to get a clean sheet -- as lilely as any other anyway.
Crouch is a goalscorer and an assist man so the Kopite defense has already decided to double team him. One defender standing on the shoulders of the other to snuff out his aerial threat.
"We may look like a rugby line out" said GM Chloe Adams "but if we 'crouch' he'll surely beat us in the air!"

This is going to interesting. Big up the one VSR team. If I had won I would be the only one :(
This just in:
[Reuters, AP, UPI][April 15, 2005, dateline Geneva] "UEFA and FIFA have reached an agreement on schedules that will give the players a two-week Winter break from league and international matches. In other news from FIFA headquarters, the Small Rocks and Very Small Rocks League officials announced the postponement of the Rock Hard Championship Challenge Cup semifinal matches for one week due to:
a) Mourning over the victims of the mega tsunami and Pope John Paul II's death;
b) The limited Premiership fixtures this week; and
c) The Cup Commissioner, Michel, being arrested in Milan as part of the soccer fan riots at San Siro this past week."
Reacting to this news from Aviators World Headquarters in Lorton, Virginia, club president, Hal, said, "The Aviators organization accepts this last minute notification. Fortunately, for us, we have not made major transfer moves to obtain players from the few EPL teams with fixtures this week." Our superstars can use the week off to redouble our efforts to take over 2nd place in the Small Rocks table from Kopite Juniors."

Is this real?
What part of this do you think is real?
Normally, do Reuters, AP, UPI all share the same byline?
Haven't you heard elsewhere that UEFA and FIFA have made an agreement on schedules? (Isn't that old news?)
Do you see multiple choice reasons very often in news stories?
We know Michel was on travel. Does anyone have any information that he was even at the Inter Milan vs AC Milan derby? Better yet, do we have a hooligan amongst us?
Does "Aviators" have a World Headquarters?
Wait, I think I see a kernel of truth in the last paragraph. Aviators do want to overtake Kopite Juniors for 2nd.

This move will either put me over the top this week... or cost me 4 points in the Very Small Rocks....
OUT: Hendrie, Aston villa, 6.4

It looks like it'll be FC Springfield vs the Aviators in the Finals of the Rock Hard Championship Challenge Cup. Quite fitting to have a team from each league face off for overall bragging rights.
Preliminary scores from Week 33 (Still have subs to process):
Kopite Juniors (32) vs FC Springfield (44)
Winning Connections (17) vs Aviators (35)
It also looks like FC Springfield has a Gold Medal week with the 44 points. At this moment, 1800-France.com has 39 and Aviators 35, pending sub scores to be added.

WOW!!! How unexpected! I hope it holds up (I havent checked the subs). I was so mad because I heard Gerrard missed a penalty (on purpose, may I add, since my Liverpool trio were pulling for Kopite), and I thought that would really cost me... Hooray!

GO FC Beat the Aviators the arrogant fellas. I am behind you just like the UEFA Cup but win this time :D
GO FC Beat the Aviators the arrogant fellas.
Arrogant? Do we walk with a certain swagger?
Ok, Brian, since you are following this championship so closely, how about handicapping the finals. Looking forward to your detailed analysis of the two organizations, the managers' styles, and the teams.
The Finals are decided by the better total aggregate score over 5 games, Gameweeks 34-38. Then some tiebreakers if still tied.
Congratulations to all the semifinalists.
Kopite Juniors and Winning Connections will have a play-off for 3rd Place.
The Play-off is the better aggregate score over two gameweeks, Gameweek 35 and Gameweek 37.
Best of luck to Mark and Jonathan.
Aviators and FC Springfield square off in a marathon finals. This will be decided by the better aggregate score over 5 gameweeks, Gameweeks 34-38.
Best of luck to Andre and Hal.
You two will be able to predict each other's trades and moves before this tournament is finished.

Aviators remain heavy favorites in my mind for the final. Player availability is slim in the VSR as too many inactive managers retain key players and never make transfers... plus Ajax Reserves are already sabotaging my plans with heavy transfer activity!!!!
FC Springfield however announces its first move for this anticipated final... may the best team win... for Northern Virginia bragging rights :)
OUT: Morientes, Liverpool, 9.6
IN: Keane, Tottenham, 9.0

I would say Hal's Aviators are favourites. He has already made somei mpressivem oves and is a master of the transfer market. With this final taking place over a number of weeks, Henry is likely to be back and fit sooner rather than later nad hsould grab enough points in the last two matches to secure a win.
No disrepsect to FC Springfield who have shown themselves to be worthy opponents and deserve to be in the final.
I am rooting for the underdog Springfield, but my head says Aviatos will capture the cup.
Third place game for me, huh? I'll play of course, but my manager has advised me not to spend money on transfers for a "piddling third place". So one a week is my diet folks :)

Final scores from GameWeek 33 (Must have been some score adjustments as there were several score changes, although they did not alter the outcome.)
Kopite Juniors (32) vs FC Springfield (38 (down from prelim 44))
Winning Connections (21 (up from a prelim 17)) vs Aviators (38 (up from a prelim 35))
With FC Springfield's score adjustment from 44 to 38, the Gold Medal for GW 33 goes to Michel's 1800-France.com's 39 points. Andre and his FC Springfield tied with Hal's Aviators for the Silver Medal with 38 points.
The Finals:
FC Springfield vs Aviators
Playoff for 3rd place:
Kopite Juniors vs Winning Connections

Thanks to shrewd calculations and faith in Blackburn, Hal will take round one 52-34 (barring any revisions by the site).
Here's my first transfer for the upcoming week... I need to make up ground!
OUT: Ben Haim, Bolton, 4.2
IN: Weir, Everton, 4.6

Note that Hal was already getting prepared for Blackburn's double games next week too.
He stole them from under me a week early.
