:D If it becomes true then it's the best Arsenal transfer news in ages! Good riddance, Franny! Next year Bentley would knock him down yet another slot anyway, right, and he'd be virutally worthless in the market.
From what I've seen this is not a done deal, though, so don't get to hopeful. Yet.

I'll give Jeffers props for willing to take a paycut to try and get his career back on track. There is no way Charlton is paying him what he was stealing from Arsenal.

That's so amazing that Charlton are going to blow their money on that clown. Great news I'm so happy to see him go away. :D

Charlton is now my second favorite team. Just for taking that piece of crap from us and actually paying more than I thought we would get for him. I didnt think we would ever find a club to take him. Good job board. =)
Thanks again Charlton.

Bye Bye, Big Ears! You waste of locker space. I thought Charlton were really on the way up and planning for a brighter future.....guess not.

Wow, I'm surprised at the reaction. I thought he was pretty decent the few times he did play for Arsenal. Weren't some of you guys singing the praises of this "Fox in the Box" two seasons ago? I mean, I honestly don't care whether he stayed or not since we seem to have plenty of depth, just a little surprised that so many of you guys hated him. Oh well.

Good to see this happen all the way around. Jeffers does have some potential, but he hasn't done anything at Arsenal and wasn't going to feature at all at Arsenal, so it's got to be good for his career to move on. And I really didn't expect Arsenal to get $2.6 million for him, so that's good to see the club can at least recoup a portion of the fee they paid for him.

Looks like it is a done deal. £2.6million is not a bad price for an Everton reject. I expected we would not get a million for him. Interesting quote from Curbishley -- ``He needed a change and he's exactly the sort of player I like to sign because I feel he's angry and hungry after the last couple of years. I'm hoping that we can put his career back on track.''

Look at the picture accompanying the transfer story on the home page of Arsenal.com. Franny's getting elbowed in the head. Shows what the club thinks of him!

We totally ripped off Charlton. Is this the replacement for Carlton Cole? (Laughable) I wish him well though. I am not anti-Francis; I am anti-Francis w/ the Arsenal

this is one of the most levelheaded (and accurate) posts in the thread. Franny didn't get a lot done at Arsenal but he hardly deserves personal and aesthetic attacks from a bunch of armchair supporters eating cheese puffs on another continent. I know he didn't live up to expectations but in case you've forgotten, its just a little bit difficult to unseat the likes of Henry, Bergkamp, Reyes now, and even the likes of Wiltord and Kanu.
