If we can get away with it... I mean come on it's not like most of us can help it anyway. :D

The Phillies are screwed. Bowa will get fired when they are mathematically eliminated from the playoffs, and wrongly so.
The Eagles will disappoint again, even with T.O.
THe Flyers will be locked out.
Don't know anything about the Sixers except that they have a new coach.

The Philles are the biggest disappoinment this year.

Even with injuries, they have underachieved, as usual. Thome has done his part, but he can't do it all. Wagner, Burrell, et al, all injured. But haven't the yankees had a lot of injuries also? And aren't they about 10 games in front of the bosox for first in the al east?

Did you know that there is a forum for discussing other sports already? Go to the main page it should be near the bottom. Baseball is boring. ;)

Back to soccer: why did they give us the Philadelphia sub-forum and then shut down the main thread?

So we could have more space to blather.
Do you not want it? ;)

Long threads slow the server down, so the story goes. That is why that one was part two, because part 1 was already closed becasue of it's length. Do you not like the sub-forum?

No, the subforum is fine. I just thought it was weird that the main thread used for this topic was shut down just as the subforum was opened. Didn't realize about the server, that's all.
Carry on. ;)

Looper's right about the server bing slowed down by long threads. We try to keep them short if we can help it. It's not like I, of all people, want to limit what Philly fans can talk about, anyways!
In any case, I don't follow all Philly sports like I once did (though it's a hell of a lot easier to follow the Birds than onyone else), but I'm certainly willing to let these kinds of threads slide as long as no one tells the Big Guys that I'm...errr..."playing favorites" ;o)
Let's just all wallow in our own self-pity that Philly won't have another championship team before we're all dead and gone - or until we get our MLS team, whichever comes first. Misery loves company...

Good heavens, where did all those runs come from...

Randy Wolf needs to shape up. NOW. Given the Phillies pitching woes, they had better start doing all the little things that score runs, which this team seems to not want to do. For the first half of the season, survival was due to many homeruns, has slowed since the all-star break.(until last night) Now they have to actually play National League Baseball...

I say give Wolfy more at bats...pinch hit him when he's not pitching :D

Based on his past and last nights performance, why the heck not?

I like seeing the Phils jack 6 hrs, but it's a shame that their new ballpark is turning into Coors Field East.

I'm happy as long as our boys are jacking more homeruns out of the park than the other team does.

Why? It's more exciting than boring pitchers' duels.

Two picthers going after no-hitters against each other is pretty exciting!
