Yes!
It is not official until tomorrow (Tuesday, Aug 10, when FIFA and CSA hold press conference in Toronto), but Canada has been awarded the 2007 Youth World Cup. The announcement will include an announcement of an approximately 25,000 seat stadium for soccer and tackle football in Toronto. A soccer-specific stadium may also be built in Vancouver. The final will probably be held at Edmonton's 60,000 plus Commonwealth Stadium. "Soccer" (real football) in Canada needs this!

CSA announcement: http://www.canadasoccer.com/eng/media/viewArtical.asp?Press_ID=1839
Fifa announcment: http://www.fifa.com/en/media/index/0,1369,102457,00.html?articleid=102457
The only bug-a-boo I see is that this was done by the Emergency Committee, not the full Fifa Executive Committee, so there is always a slim chance it would get eventually voted down.
quotes from CSA:
A major factor in FIFA agreeing to move the timetable forward concerning awarding this event to CSA was the recent decision by the Governments of Canada and Ontario on May 21, 2004 to financially support the development of Varsity Stadium with a joint $35 million contribution to this project. The only condition cited in the awarding of this grant was the requirement by FIFA to stage the World Youth Championship in Canada in 2007.
“As a result of today’s announcement, we believe that FIFA has acted with unprecedented speed and that this shall now allow the University of Toronto, The Canadian Soccer Association and its other partners to proceed with the construction of this state of the art, 25,000 seat, $80 million stadium so that it will be ready to host the Championship’s official opening ceremonies and opening match featuring Canada, tentatively set for July 1, 2007,” concluded Warner.
...
The Championship will take place in six major stadiums in at least four major regions across Canada with the tentative dates for the tournament set for July 1-22, 2007.

I'm thinking the same thing.
However, has anyone here been to past U-20 WC? Is the play fairly attractive? I've never been to an international youth tourney or even caught one on tv so I'm wondering what to expect in terms of the level of play. I saw some clips of Adu at past tourneys (not sure what age level it was since he plays in older groups) and was not real impressed with the play especially defense.
