Mullets these days are different from mullets of trailer trash or from the 80s.

Trendy mullets require you to have sideburns and long front while traditional mullets shave off the sides and leave the back long. Trendy mullets also are most of the time in semi-dreadlocks.

With the right style and look in clothes, mullets can look fashionable. You just have to be able to pull it off, cause if you can't, like you said, it WILL look ridiculous on you.

Example of people who wouldn;t be able to pull off the new hipster mullet trend would be fat, stocky, and bulky people.

You need to be skinny, fashion saavy emo/punk/whatever the hell other heroin-chic style out there, to pull off a mullet.

People are strange the world over lad - why, just the other day i was in Wilkes-Barre and i happend upon a group of teenagers dressed up punk style.
Now, these kids, male and female, thought they were something special and took very high indignation at hte fact that i was falling over laughing at them.
I had just come out of a pub a short while ago and was feeling no pain if you know what i mean, i thought the sight of something like that was quite funny.

Same connection to your story as well.
You see i used to dress like that a bit - back in the late 70s and 80's.

Needless to say I`ve stopped taking her out.

The younger people that have mullets are normally pretencious c*cks anyways. A bit of a sweeping statement, but 100% true from my personal experience.
Can't see any Villa players sporting unusual hairstyles this season, DOL will just tell them to get it cut off. No ******** with that guy :)

My mullet is still in its infancy, but it will grow up into a beauty.

England is obviously well ahead of america when it comes to fashion so in about a couple of years you'll be sporting then as well. Just after you stop wearing your shellsuit and bumbag.

Keep on trucking.

mullet-mania appears to have hit spain the worst. about half of the national team had them. disgraceful. yeah it is true that the people that have these 'trendy mullets' are actually complete pr*cks.

I saew a couple of them at villa last year, iirc... Barry & Hendrie to name 2.

I've got a friend who had a new mullet (cut it yesterday to a normal haircut), he's not pretencious in the slightest; in fact he is one of the nicest, most approachable, funniest, non fashion-conscious people I know, he's just a bit tapped in the head with certain things (you should see some of the hilarious haircuts he has gotten in the past). But yeah, most are arseholes.

Good news lads! My missus came back from a Toni&Guy course in London yesterday and they say mullets are officially OUT!

"Don`t ask us about mullets or heavy fringes, because we don`t do them anymore!" they said. Thats the death-knell of the mullet.

So next time you see someone with a mullet - point at them and laugh!
