I didnt get a chance to see that game, but read about it, they are better then that, I beleive
The intresting thing with Paraguay vs Italy is that both countries Forte is Defense so it should be intresting to see who gambles more . Also by the time they meet it could be a match for first place in their group (the same for Mexico vs.Greece).
To be honest portugal has a very easy group for them Only Costa Rica can
give them a competitive game from the group . But I can't wait to see them vs Iraq  .
Japan, I dont know much about them could they possibly score against Italy ?

I saw Japan play Australia. (Which they lost 1-0). From that match, Japan is one of the worst team I've ever seen. (No offense but only from that game).
Korea-Greece/Mexico. I think we will give a shock to the host.
Any game with Portugal and Korea. :D They are just great.

Mali
N.Korea
Aside from Home advantage, Greece has the pressure of trying to emulate the EURO Cup team ,which I think will work against them .

Going beyond the group stage there is one match I think we can all agree we want to see. Italy vs. Argentina. On paper these are the two most talented teams and they have also achieved the results as both won their Olympic tournaments. I would give a slight edge to Argentina since most of the squad has just played Copa America and they were getting better with every game. Italy, otoh, have to incorporate Pirlo into their setup. So they might not be as good early. But they should get better with games.

I agree with your reasoning but I also think its fun to watch the teams that arent as good on paper playing against the teams that are "great" ...For example, the Latvia-Germany game in the Euro was quite funny since you would expect Germany to score a billion and one goals and it ended up tied..

I think Italy-Ghana should be good. African teams have won the past two golds, and many of the Ghanian players played on the team which finished second to Argentina at the U-20 championship in 2001. Five players on the Ghana roster play in Italy, including captain Stephen Appiah at Juventus, so they will certainly not be afraid of the favored Italians. The contrast will also be interesting -- to see how the methodical Italians do against the less-predictable Ghanaians in the first group game for each team.

I believe Korea is bringing, for the first time ... a UNIFIED Olympic team. Hence it is called Korea Republic in these games. This is the real beauty of sports.
Don't know if all the players in the Korean Men's Football Olympic team come from South Korea thou. Maybe one of our Korean friends on this board can ellobarate a bit more.
