I update the players' cumulative scores after the day's games are completed. Usually takes about 40 minutes for all the teams, spread over number of game days.

I update the player valuations 2-3 times, usually when I'm updating the scores for that day. This adds another hour.

Cutting and pasting the results into a BigSoccer post and adding editorial comments usually takes about 1/2 hour. 2.5 - 3 hours total for each weekly update.

My apologies to Jay for not adding time to spellcheck and look for misplaced modifiers. Mea Culpa

Congratulations to FC Springfield for leaving 24 points on the bench this week... man this is not my year

I am about to forget the bet and start making some transfers. The Class Acts are in a crisis.

Bad start... I have Viduka. See post 636 or the fantasy premierleague site.

As I posted in the FantasyPremierLeague Very Small Rocks league forum, unfortunately, Brian, you selected a player already on a team for your first excursion into the promised land of transfers.

You need to drop Viduka and acquire another forward and tell us all (in here and in the League message forum at FantasyPremierleague.com) who you select before this week's transfer window closes. You can reacquire Kezman if you act before someone else claims him or pick another free agent forward.

You can check the latest roster posting I did on p. 42, #627, and then check the announced trades since then. That's only a little over two pages of posts and not all are about transfers.

Just to help you a bit, the best three healthy, available strikers are:

Bergkamp** Arsenal** 9.2 59
Smith** Man. United** 9.2 53
Shearer** Newcastle** 10.6 51 (though his thigh is a question)
Cole** Aston Villa** 7.5 49
Keane** Tottenham** 8.9 48

The top available strikers currently injured are: (you can check out their expected return date at http://www.physioroom.com/ )

Boa Morte** Fulham** 7.8 58
Yakubu** Portsmouth** 8.2 53
Saha** Man. United** 10.4 12

THE CLASS ACTS " SHEARER" DELIGHT

Class Acts manager Brian Alleyne is delighted at capturing Alan and thanks Aviator manager Hal Jones alot. Even though Shearer has been aquired the Class Acts are having serious problems this week. Tomas Hitselsperger is once again ruled out also back up goalie Crossley. Ruud STILL has not recovered and Ronaldo needs a rest. All will depend on Shearer and the inform David Dunn.

EXCLUSIVE : SHEARER AND DIOP SPEAKS OUT

On the eve of the 19th matchday, the two new additions speak at the prematch at the team's training ground. This is what Shearer had to say.

" I am overjoyed to be back playing football again. I was quite hurt that Ajax Reserves just shipped me out just like that and I want to show them how much I am worth and put in a few goals"

This is what Diop had to say: " I am also happy to be here. The transfer was done late and hitselsperger was released. I want to do things here!."

Ajax Reserves manager, Judy Jones, announced the following moves:

OUT:
Riise Def Liverpool 6.9
Anderton Mid Birmingham 4.6

Judy was heard muttering one is too old and no one besides me is allowed to have red hair on this team.

IN:
Hriedarsson Def Charlton 5.0
Fabregas Mid Arsenal 6.7

After the trade the players were given an escort to get them to the pitch. They had to have their numbers painted on the jerseys. Manager Judy welcomed them to the team and thrust them straight into the starting line-up.

A Spanish paper reported the following results of an interview with Xabi Alonso, (translated using Babblefish) "Will the thrusting of last minute signees into the starting rotation unsettle this side? And a follow-up if I may, How long will it take you to get to know your new teammates?"

Xabi is reported to have responded, "This is the first team I've ever played for at any level where I have seen such weekly changes in the squad. But we're all professional futballers, so we'll adjust. I just try to pass to someone in an Ajax Reserves jersey and hope, whatever his name is, he will know what to do with it. Oh, and let me say how much I appreciate how the fans have welcomed me."

So, when Judy goes blonde next week, we have to trade all players with blonde hair? Maybe we can restrict the transfers to someone who uses the same Clairol hair color that Judy selects that week?

With FC Springfield about to fall out of the top four after another stellar week where Chelsea players are set to outscore the whole team, an internal team memo was leaked to the press spelling out FC Springfield's secrets in spending more time than other manager managing his team, but still managing to do worse than all teams in the league, including half of the teams managed by inactive or semi-active managers

Rule #1: If elected captain, FC Springfield demands that you take the day off. No need to score goals or play hard. Instead, just go around the pitch like the game doesnt matter. Furthermore, if captain and elected to take a penalty, you must miss it, in order to bring yourself into negative points for the team

Rule #2: If transfered into FC Springfield, drop your recent strong form and become a non-factor. No need for midfielders or strikers to score... that would mean bringing in points.

Rule #3: If a defender, do not keep a clean sheet. Instead, give up a preventable goal every week, especially in the dying seconds of a match.

Rule #4: If a striker on FC Springfield, do not actually play like one. Instead, drop back in the midfield or play as a winger. This is effective in keeping you off the scoresheet, even on teams that score 4-5 goals every week.

Rule #5: If you are elected to sit on the bench, that is a good week to play really well and rack up plenty of points.

Rule #6: If you start to play well and show promise, injure yourself promptly.

Rule #7: If coaching FC Springfield, no need to study upcoming fixtures list and transfer accordingly. No matter how much effort you put in, your decisions will prove wrong, and you will be bypassed in the standings by teams that are managed by managers who spend little to no time managing their teams.

You think you are having a bad time? At least you are not in a dog fight at the bottom of the league :( . After all I am in last place with 596 and the person ahead of me with 597 and then 6th place another 30 points ahead. Oh well, at least I have Shearer the captain still to play.

With all the transfers I've made and time spent managing my team, thank god I'm not fighting for 8th... alas I may be in a few weeks.

TVD has multiple guys score over 15 points every week. I had Reyes do that once, and have never had more than two players score 10 points in the same week. So disappointing.

Hey dont be so down mate. I remember a time I was is fifth position and I was ahead of Sporting FC Colombia and as we can see that can all change so easily. Remember mate it is a marathon not a sprint.
