NO! I made an oath not to make a transfer. I just have to tinker with my team. I recall a gameweek I had no striker LOL! But I have brought in Watson from the on fire team Everton and dropped Ruud. Only 2 weeks. 40 points away from 4th place.

With 2.0 Million in the bank you might want to upgrade your striker force. I think you are committed to hanging onto Van Nistelrooy during his 2 premiership game suspensions, but you might want to drop Stead who has lost his starting place.

Here are some currently available strikers:

Name Team Salary Points Scored

Bellamy** Newcastle** 9.0 42
Boa Morte** Fulham** 7.3 37
Dickov** Blackburn 6.8 35
Kanu** West Brom 6.4 33
Defoe Tottenham** 8.9 31
Lisbie** Charlton** 6.0 27
Davies** Bolton** 6.9 27
Bentley Norwich 6.0 25
Drogba Chelsea 10.6 25 (Injured, out 2-3 more weeks)
Cole** Aston Villa** 7.5 24
Heskey** Birmingham** 7.6 24
Viduka** Middlesbrough** 9.3 23
Euell** Charlton** 7.1 22
Kanoute Tottenham** 7.5 22
Yorke** Birmingham** 6.2 21
Jeffers Charlton** 7.2 21
Beattie** Southampton** 8.6 21 (Injured, out a couple of months)
Keane** Tottenham** 8.9 21

I tried to send a PM to wesley, aka IloveColumbia, but his PM box was full. I did send him an email requesting he actively manage his team or let me know other intentions.

In the meantime, while his team value was still below 100, I created a potential replacement team, Columbia Reserves, whose roster mirrors sporting FC columbia's.

This contingency team, should wesley decide to withdraw, can be passed on to someone else to manage or I could step in and be a caretaker manager so we got back to 8 actively managed teams.

Hal have you chosen a team yet??? If so, please let me know what players are unavailable. I couldnt start the new week off Saturday without a transfer :D

I have loaded up the Columbia Reserve team with exactly the same players held by sporting FC columbia. I've even selected the same starters, sub order, and captain as wesley has selected. I want to give wesley a chance to respond to my email before I begin to act as caretaker manager and select a different starting line-up, sub order and maybe make a transfer or two.

Still waiting on wesley's response. In the meantime, the Columbia Reserve team will mirror wesley's team until a different action is undertaken.

I was assuming you were implying a possible break up of wesley's team or some trade available bewteen wesley's team and yours. Neither is an option at this time. However, the free agent pool is available for any active manager to make a trade for a free agent. I'm not asking anyone to hold off making their free agent pick-ups until I decide to take over the management of sporting FC columbia.

I've had second thoughts on this. Because I had my database updated through last weekends games, I was able to plan for my adjustments were I to take over the management of sporting FC columbia and replace that team with Columbia Reserves.

I have a plan to swap out 7 players. I'd hate to have to re-plan the squad adjustments, though I could, if another manager grabs a player I've tentatively selected in the next day or so. It's a tight plan so I might also have to adjust anyway it due to tonight's player value fluctuations.

Let me ask the other managers, will anyone be injured if I ask for a moratorium on trades until I make the decision on wesley? I'd like to give him till tomorrow to respond. Or if I announced the 7 free agent players I'm intending to select, could they be off limits until say 6 PM EST Friday night?

I will not declare a trade moratorium unless a majority of other managers agree.

Just had another thought. I may not be able to make more than one trade since I don't have any score. The game may not let me go in the hole???

Making these 7 trades would deduct 24 point from my zero score. A way around that is to create yet another Reserve team that reflects the planned 7 trades. The replacement team, for ladder purposes would be adjusted for the 347 points for the current sporting FC Columbia team, less the 24 points for these 7 tades, or the Replacement team's ladder position would be future score plus 323 points.

Does anyone else know of someone who might want to join our league and manage a team? It's not a given that I would have to act as caretaker manager.

Hopefully all this will be moot if Wesley responds and becomes active again.

I am of the mood, however, to not draw this out and let an inactive Wesley field teams with long term injury players. That is not good for the inter and intra league competitions. I will make a decision before this week's games.

Hearing no response from Wesley, I have assumed the caretaker manager position for sporting FC columbia and will exercise management through the Columbia Reserves team, the new team of record.
I was able to make that announcement in the league forum, but all my transaction posts as Judy Jones or myself would not take so I'm posting them here and hope to figure out how to execute the transfers.

Hal for simplicity's sake wouldnt it be easier to erase Wesley's team from the league? Good moves by the way...

If Wesley doesn't show up, I say keep the team as it is unless someone comes in and takes over the team. Then, he'll make the moves he wants.

I will wait a few days before I delete his team in case he resurfaces. But I'm not holding my breath. I see no value in continuing with an inactive manager. I will now be trying to recruit a manager to take my place as caretaker manager of the Columbia Reserves, which will replace any place in intra and inter division competitions that are assigned to sporting FC columbia.

I, as the administrator of this league, have come in and taken over his inactive team. I started by creating an exact duplicate of his roster since I didn't have his user name and password. I'll be trying to recruit a full time replacement manager and will turn over the user name and password to him/her. In the meantime, look out, Columbia Reserves is set to climb the table.
Columbia Reserves total will be the 347 that sporting FC columbia had through last weekend's games plus future scores for Columbia Reserves.
The game did not indicate that I went 24 points in the hole for making those 7 trades. It will be up to the other managers whether Columbia Reserves also adjusts the total score for those trades or whether it's a bonus for restoring an actively managed team.

Hal he's been posting on bigsoccer as recently as yesterday so I think he simply doesnt care and has dropped out... judging by what others say about him on the boards too it doesnt come as a surprise unfortunately.

Your PM box is full so new PM's are rejected.

I sent you an email and you did not respond.
I posted an inactivity watch message in the Message Forum and in this thread after several other managers mentioned your seeming inactivity.
If you were reading either forum, you should have responded.

The evidence of inactivity was:
1) No transfers since school started. Your last transfer activity was 8/26.
2) Fielding the same line-up week after week, especially with some long-term injured players.
3) No participation in the banter posts in this forum or posts in the Message Forum of FantasyPremierLeague.com
4) No response to email.

My email asked you to let us know your intentions as to re-confirming your committment to be an active manager. After 5 weeks of seeming inactivity, I wanted to act to salvage the season, especially while I could still duplicate your team as a starting point because your team value was below 100.

Having said that. If you confirm you are committed to actively managing your team for the rest of the season, that's fantastic and I'll rescind the Columbia Reserve Team, with the players I traded for this week going back into the free agent pool and you can manage as you see fit.

If you post your intentions to continue with Very Small Rocks league tonight, then you and other managers will still have time to select some of the players I made a trade for as they are automatically back in the pool.

So does this mean the reserve team is now free to all managers? This week was terrible: two of players got injured, my captain missed two sitters, my other midfielder hit the post twice, and my substitute keeper scored 8 points and a clean sheet!!!! So basically I'd like to tweak ASAP :)
