I only need Steed to bring in 8 pts (that will be double as he's captain) this afternoon against lowly Palace to overtake you.
We'll see later if you lead at the break...
only got 4 after a lousy performace by your captain
keep on dreaming about first place

HA!! I am climbing the table quick. I was last when I went on vacation and now I have gone up 1 position 3 times in 4 weeks. Sweet!! 302 and climbing. You better watch out.
Some Very Small Rocks statistics and analyses and comparisons to Small Rocks League (data as of 10/4):
Very Small Rocks Table:

103 806.4 League Totals 2918
Total trades: SR (103) to VSR (51)
Total team value: SR (806.4) to VSR (799.7)
Total roster points scored: SR (2918) to VSR (2683)
Comparison of two teams with Henry:
SR-Aviators: 31 trades; Team Value 101.9; Total Roster Points 415
VSR-TVD Phenomenons: 1 trade; TV 99.9; Total Roster Points 265
TVD Phenomenons: current table score = 341
Aviators: current table score = 300
Which team would you rather have? How long will it take for the Henry supporting cast of Aviators (who have scored 150 more points than TVD's supporting cast) to overcome the 41 point current deficit?
For the Very Small Rocks League, just looking at the Total Roster Points Scored, I would predict that Windsor Wanderers (447) and FC Springfield (405) are the teams to watch and most likely to climb the table in the near term pending roster adjustments and injuries.
Similarly, for the Small Rocks League, I would predict that 1800-France.com (455) and Aviators (415) are poised to climb the table. It may be possible to quickly climb to #2 and #3, but Kopite Juniors (442) is setting a torid pace. Aviators, with Henry as Captain, may be able to more quickly close the large lead established by Kopite Juniors.

ASSL moves (with 8 point penalty) as it's too anxious to regain some momentum with an autumn clean-up of its line-up.
OUT: Gregan, WB, M 4.3
IN: Jenas, NUFC, M, 7.1
OUT: Bridge, Chelsea, D, 7.2
IN: Naybet, TH, D, 5.8
*****
Next up on the block, Olivier Bernard whose dismissal is delayed to see the effects of possible ankle problems.
So, here's the new starting line-up
GK: Jaaskelainen (please Bolton sell him to ManU)
D: Terry - Naybet
M: Lampard (C) - Butt - Svensson - Jenas - Malbranque
F:Bent - Bentley - Hasselbaink
OUT: Gregan, WB, M 4.3
IN: Jenas, NUFC, M, 7.1
OUT: Bridge, Chelsea, D, 7.2
IN: Naybet, TH, D, 5.8
With these moves, Jean Michael increased the ASSL Total Roster Points Scored from 337 to a respectable 398. Now, he should also be a candidate for overtaking TVD and is better positioned to hold off Windsor Wanderers and FC Springfield.
That, in my opinion, was a well-spent 8 points. Dropping a useless player who was loaned out of the Premiership and a 7+ M player who doesn't regularly start with Chelsea for two top performers was a shrewd move.
Jenas has scored 30 points and Naybet 33 points so far this season, compared to the 0 and 20 point producers they replaced.

I kept hedging all week on spending another four points and picking up Jenas.
Nice move by Montreal United.

Thanks Hal!!!
As a Magpie fan, I was worried as last year Jenas didn't show much after his good start after his transfer from Ipswich. Now, from what I've read, he's more into the attack now supporting our strikers which should bring in points.
It's tempting to ruin another 4 points now for Bernard, but I'll hold.
The only moves I regret now are not getting Rooney or Reyes while they were available...
But then Bentley will outscore them, no? :)

Hal thanks for the vote of confidence for FC Springfield and for your neat summaries. The short-term goal is of course a top 4 spot for promotion to the Small Rocks next year, but I'm liking my chances in the cup competitions as well.
JM: Good move to pick up Jenas. I was pondering the move earlier this week, but felt that Kluivert's health risks, as well as Bellamy's new midfield role, couldnt compare to what Bergkamp will bring to Arsenal, so I made that transfer a priority, especially as DB10's minutes are bound to be more consistent as Arsenal are in full swing in Europe. I am actually going to nominate him captain next week if Freddie remains banged up (if I nominate Reyes, he wont score any points).
As for Rooney and Reyes JM, I am pretty confident they will score a little higher than Bentley

JM: I applaud your enthusiasm, but I really hope that you are resting your hopes on production by Bentley :p Huckerby for one will score than he will.
Of course, you are right that my guys might score just a little more... that is if both get injured
Thought I'd share with you my open team roster and stats. I just finished making 6 trades, costing 20 points for this week and giving up 1.3 M of my total team value. My previous team value of 108.6 was in the top 20 of all teams for valuation.

Roster points scored by likely starters 491.
Roster points scored by entire roster 580.
Contrast the 580 Roster points scored with the roster points scored by the drafted teams. I made full use of the extra team value I had built up. I make this point to emphasize how important your total team value will be later in the season and how your roster moves may be restricted. Of course, in a drafted league, the top players are already on someone's else's team.
Do note, however, based on the transfer activity in the Small Rocks League, how managers are constantly improving their teams.
I know it's hard to drop the Kewell's, the Scholes, and other outstanding players, but you have to make a business decision as to whether they are pulling their weight for their salary.
Here's another analysis of the Naval Aviators team focusing on the points per million dollars generated by each player.

What points per million $ do you players earn? Might this be an anlaysis you might do to look for ways to improve your team? Phase in the changes to minimize the point loss due to trades, but it may be time to clean out the dead wood.

Expect players' value on this list to rise.

nice summary
Toure actually is on a roster already (mine)
#D Toure** Arsenal** 7.0 36 5.1
On Toure, I put a # in front of the position because he is not presently on a Small Rocks Team. Note there is no * after the D for his defender position.
I put * behind the position if the player is not currently on a Very Small Rocks Roster.

Which team would you rather have? How long will it take for the Henry supporting cast of Aviators (who have scored 173 more points than TVD's supporting cast) (who have a 65.4 points / M$ salary to 32.3 points / M$) to overcome the 41 point current deficit?
For the Very Small Rocks League, just looking at the Total Roster Points Scored, I would predict that Windsor Wanderers (447) and FC Springfield (405) are the teams to watch and most likely to climb the table in the near term pending roster adjustments and injuries. Association sportive St-Lambert also has a respectable 398 points scored by his roster. JM is also likely to blow by TVD Phenomenons. Looking at the points scored per salary statistic, the same 3 teams seem to be distancing themselves from the rest of the league. My current prediction is that these three teams will be promoted with the rest of the league fighting for the fourth promotion spot. (That comes with the usual caveat pending future roster changes. Hint: You other managers better get busy in strengthening your rosters.)
Similarly, for the Small Rocks League, I would predict that 1800-France.com (455) and Aviators (438) are poised to climb the table. It may be possible to quickly climb to #2 and #3, but Kopite Juniors (442) is setting a torid pace. Aviators, with Henry as Captain, may be able to more quickly close down the large lead established by Kopite Juniors. Again, looking at the points per M$ of roster salary, I would predict that Kopite Juniors, 1800-France.com, and Aviators would take 3 of the 4 spots to stay in this league next year, and the other 5 teams are fighting for the last "stay up" spot to avoid relegation.

All very academic and interesting but I beg to differ there is absolutely no measurement of the players' heart... in the end due to inspired coaching and multiple suspension/injuries/kidnapping of Henry, WinningConnection will take it all... and with the draft I had, that will be no small achievement.

Team TVD with his first official active roster transfers
the prior was made due to the commisioners request
OUT
DEF DODD SOUTHAMPTON 5.4
MID IZZET BCITY 7
Izzet gave me a solid 22 points throughout te past 8 weeks but due to his knee injury we have no other choice but to let him go.
Dodd has been in our starting lineup and scored only 1 point. His recovery time is longer than expected and thus has been cut.
IN
DEF SOL CAMPBELL 7.0
MID ZOLTAN GERA 5.4
Gera has been impressive at wba and by helping them stay in the epl he will be an asset to team TVD.
The defense has been shaky all year and we have invited sol campbell for some clean sheets.
Team TVD HAS seen other teams and as in the past 8 weeks no1 has been able to catchup.
