Come to think of it, Salt Lake City Scorpions does sound better than the four choices Checketts provided.

I like the name. And they could save a lot of money on uniforms, too, as there must be piles of them somewhere in San Jose.

To make sure everyone knows they play soccer, maybe it should be called the Salt Lake City Scorpions Soccer Club. Then it could be abbreviated as Salt Lake Scorpions, Salt Lake SC, Scorpions SC or whatever way a particular fan thinks is best. If you think spelling out Soccer Club is silly, ask anyone you know who doesn't follow international soccer if s/he knows what the FC or SC in any team name you pick actually means.

"De la Torre is not going anywhere. He is our player," coach Tim Hankinson said. "We'll never do anything in our lifetime to help another franchise benefit in their goals and cause."

What a nice guy. I supposed he could have added the "my players or the US national team" as well.

Cleveland, Columbus, what's the difference.
