Not nearly the hype around him as last season, and still Arsenal did not sight another centerback.

Now with Sol out with an achilles injury, Senderos is our first CB off the bench if Toure, Cygan, or even Lauren go down with injury or suspension. (I say Lauren because Toure will switch to the RB hole this year also, considering Arsenal has yet to find a back-up RB.) Right now it looks likely we will see Senderos in the league a fair amount, unless the guys in front of him all go the distance.

So what's the word on the guy? I have missed some pre-season reports maybe--so how has he looked? Should Arsenal fans be comfortable with this situation?

I agree with matt. I also personally think he's a better defender than Cygan and Toure. And that he is potentially as good if not better than Sol.

To be honest i've not really see Senderos play but if you think he is better than Toure he must be good because Henry aside i thought Kolo was by far the best player of the season last term.

Senderos is a natural defender. Toure isn't he's just versatile.
