Try out merengue. You'll both probably like it, too. Please no pop bachata.

Women love Jerry Rivera.
OK, so do I. :o
Some greatest hits CD to look for include artists like:
Oscar de Leon
Frankie Ruiz
Celia Cruz
Tito Nieves
Tito Puente (Latin Jazz)
Gilberto Santa Rosa
Tony Vega
Hector Lavoe (acquired taste)
To put her in the mood for love, try Gianmarcos. :D

It's all danceable as long as its not salsa music for little kids like the stuff they listen to in Italy.
In other words, all the stuff listed here is good to dance to, although I prefer some over the others.
I also suggest to listen to Juan Luis Guerra. His music is merengue, but it's very good.

Hector Lavoe is for advanced listeners (ie: very drunk) not really for dance.
Most of the rest is to dance.
La Burga de Panama - Willie Colon
That is probably my all-time favorite Salsa tune.
If you are really good, you could find La Progressiva del Callao. They are from my home town in Peru and in reality...really good! :D
