I saw some photos from the recent friendlies Arsenal played in and noticed that Reyes was wearing Nike boots/cleats. I may be wrong but I was under the impression he is (was?) sponsored by Kelme. What gives?

Also, I noticed he has a tatoo on his left leg. Does anyone know what it is? It seems like a lot of footballers are getting them these days.

I am going to guess he is now on Nike. I would assume since he was an up and commer, not a star, he would have been on a short contract w/ Kelme or there was something in that contract about if he left Spain that contract would end. I really don't know.

No idea on the tattoo either, seems its a law if you play sports at a high level you have to have one.

I sure was helpful, 2 no ideas....

Yeah i noticed that too, maybe Nike hae seen his potential marketing potential and signed him up? He's already the darling of Highbury, not too long now before his name carries substantial weight around Europe.

I too noticed the switch. Nike probably signed him. Fantastic player :)

I did a search on Google. Got some stuff but it was mostly about Reyes of the mets

I found some stuff with Reyes on the Kelme website but I do not speak spanish so I could not even begin to tell you what it says. However, if Nike signed him, shouldn't they make sure his old sponsor is not still using him to advertise their merchandise?

I'm not too convinced he's signed up with Nike for the very reason arsenalgirl30016 stated, namely that he's still in the advertisements etc. for Kelme. Also, when he first came over from Spain, I remember him playing with some blacked-out Nike shoes for the first few games despite being under contract before getting his own Kelmes shipped over (and then scoring those two wonder goals against Chelsea in the FA Cup shortly after). Regardless of the shoes, on the basis of his performances in the last few friendlies, it looks like he's found his feet, no pun intended.
