Thought you all might be interested in the response I recieved from the people at soccertv.com concerning FSW droping the Saturday Bundesliga game. "Fox Sports World only needs the English Premier League everything else is filler material" I had asked for information who we could contact etc. and thats the response I got.

This has indeed proven to be true. It sucks but thats the way it is. The EPL is the only league they show that attracts significant ratings, sponsors, etc.

Why would you ask the people at soccertv.com about FSW programming? I don't see anything that links it to FSW in any official capacity. In fact, on the soccertv.com contact page it states "Note: soccerTV.com has NO affiliation with any television network or satellite television programming provider. Messages intended to to the TV networks and satellite TV providers should be sent to them directly. Thank you.
"
Instead of asking to what amounts to random people, how about getting information straight from the horse's mouth? I went to the FSW website, and noticed that like most corporate websites it has a "feedback" link on the bottom. I clicked that, and voila!
"If you have a specific broadcasting question, please call: (xxx) xxx-xxxx"
It looks like they also have a fill-in form if you prefer email.
Maybe their response was rude, but why would they have any interest in doing legwork (if you can even call the 15 seconds it took to find the information) for you?

I guess all the other leagues Germany France etc will eventually end up on Gol TV. This stinks

I didn't ask for them to do my "leg work" the young lady at the phone number had no idea what I was talking about. The only reason I contacted Oliver at soccertv was for another number or information he might have on why they decided to cut the games. When they took the Bundesliga off the air for awhile a couple of years ago they helped me in terms or who to contact etc.

Ahh I see. It just seemed weird to me, and similar to responses you might get in certain forums here on BS :).
I am excited to see any Bundesliga games this year, FSW & GolTV were just made available about a month ago in my area. I have seen a few rebroadcasts, and am looking forward to seeing more.

No prob. I guess we've been spoiled the past couple of years getting two games a week. How is Gol TV I've heard it's coverage is good. You get that on basic cable?

I have Comcast digital cable, and I had to order what is called their Digital Sports Package. I get FSW, GolTV, and some regional Fox Sports channels with it. I have been pretty happy with GolTV so far.
Recently I've seen some games from the Gateshead Cup (Newcastle friendly tournament) and the Kappa Cup. Ray Hudson has been doing the color commentary for some of the games, so that's always interesting.
One nice thing is that they broadcast it on two channels, on one they dub english over the spanish on some of the their broadcasts (news, etc.). and the other has what I am assuming is the original spanish.

I'm not 100% positive on this, and I don't know how many games they show per week but they list the following leagues:
Italy, Spain, Mexico, Colombia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Uruguay, Peru, Bolivia

Getting Italy, Spain and Mexico alone is going to make that a popular network.

GolTV shows the big name teams from Spain and Italy's leagues, so you'll get your Milans, Roma's, Barca and Madrid's.
If you are getting FSW, then kiss your ESPN goodbye. I got it 3 years ago, not knowing much about club soccer in Europe. . .and now its all I watch. LOL.
I only watch ESPN Sportscenter during the NFL. NOw I watch FSW News at 9 (central) every night. It lets you know all the soccer gossip, transfers, etc. And shows highlihgts from all the leagues that matter, including Brazil and Argentina. It is quality stuff for sure.
Drink the Kool-Aid. :D

Yeah, I'm especially happy to see some Serie A and La Liga. There is so much soccer available now that my biggest problem has been trying to schedule tv time that is agreeable to my girlfriend lol. Luckily she is a fan so most of the time it's not an issue :).
So I don't know much about the Bundesliga. Could you name a couple of teams that I should keep an eye on?

A couple teams to keep an eye on? Bayern, BVB, Leverkusen, Schalke, Hamburg, Bremen, Stuttgart, Bochum...well, that's more than a couple.

It's a good league. It used to be the best in Europe (not anymore) The top teams this year should be (there always seems to one surprise team a year) Bremen, Dortmund HSV, Stuttgart, and my Bayern boys will be up there also. I'm sure my wife won't mind me not having to crawl out of bed at 6am on Saturdays to watch the games anymore. She's also is a fan (1860 Munich)

Fortunately for Bayern fans you can buy the premium package and get all their games, CL and BL, 90 minutes after they finish on the web.
