Mark,

What's the Start time when managers will have loaded their draft teams and then start mining the free agent pool?

I assume we follow the procedures of posting the proposed trade first in fantasy premierleague message forum, then if we are first in for the free agent, we exercise the trade.

Also, assume we are back on the requirement that a player has to be in the database to trade for him.

Good job Doc, my draft went well. Nice steals on Dodd and Distin ;) .

:) It was funny. I hadn't even had time to look ahead at your future picks until your final turn was up. I was running like 4 teams at the time. Then I saw your list and realized it was going to look fishy!

Let's give everyone the weekend to load their teams and the free agent pool opens at 9am Central time on Monday morning.

Yes, a player has to be in the database, and yes, the player transaction has to be posted on the premierleague.com forum

First of all, my apologies to the entire family at small rocks... the trip I had to make to Montreal was really quite last minute and it was not forseen. I really enjoy drafts and am sad to have missed it. Thank-you very much Chris for standing in for me and thank you all for having patience and being understanding in my situation... thanks for making good picks and necessary picks when my back was against the wall. I am sorry, my proxy list was not too detailed. The problem is that last year our draft took the better part of a working week IIRC so I had really only expected to see maybe 4-5 rounds of drafting. I think that up until round 6 or 7 I was really in a good position in terms of money, but my proxy picks (players i thought i would get in the 6th or 7th rounds) were chosen (rightly so) by Chris in the 8th and 9th rounds and thats what put me over.

That said... I am going to have to make some changes once the free-agent pool opens up and will probably sacrifice a midfielder... anyone but Lampard so if anyone is interested in a deal involving any of my players save Lampard and including Saha and Smith pm and we will see if we can work out a deal... I am not really favoring a particular type of player, and would even consider a straight middy for middy swap or striker for striker swap too.

Again... I am really sorry for screwing up the draft guys... I will make up for it by beating the snot out of you guys in the league... cheers everyone.

one problem... it seems that only 1 gk has been drafted for me..

No need to apologize, johno. With only 8 teams this year, we all were overspending and having trouble with fitting our teams in.

As for the keeper, just switch the last 4.0 defender pick with a 4.0 keeper.
(Until FA, of course. Then do whatever you want)

ok... i picked up the other westbrom back up keeper for 3.0 and that leaves me w/ 2.5 in the bank which may or may not be enough to pick up a starting goalkeeper if I sell kruszack... anyway

Actually, all the 3.0 keepers were drafted.

I meant to draft you Poole, BW, gk, 4.0 for your last pick, but in the excitement of nearing the end, I lost my head. :)

Anyway, just plug Poole into that spot until Monday when you begin fixing your team.

I'm too burned out to do a draft analysis.

Besides, I always just conclude I had the best draft anyway for my draft position.

But this year, since I picked first, I have no draft order excuses for NOT having the best draft.

Quid est demonstrandum. I must have had the best draft. LOL

Plus, based on prior experience, lots of teams will significantly adjust their roster before the start of the season where the rubber meets the road.

Finally, despite the complaints, this draft was completed in record time for us, even with all the proxies. 1 DAY! Fantastic. The other league's draft also finished today but with lots more rudeness and it took 13.5 hours. Still, I had expected to be messing with this draft tomorrow. WHEW!!!

I want to thank all those managers who filled in and made the proxy picks to keep both drafts going. I know you inconvenienced yourself so others could meet other commitments (golfing was the one I didn't want to hear about) (wedding - OK, emergency trip - OK, loss of power - OK, cable modem problems - OK.

Regardless, thanks again for everyone who gave so much of their day for these drafts. Good luck in the season.

Finally, despite the complaints, this draft was completed in record time for us, even with all the proxies. 1 DAY! Fantastic.

This isn't how I look at it. I see two good ways to do a draft.

1) A "live" draft where everyone is in a chat room, and there are 3 minute time slots, and the draft is done in 2-3 hours.

2) A "semi-live" draft where we all get on with our lives, check in on our email/draft thread periodically, and the league draft runs the course of a week, never really inconveniancing anyone too much.

Given work schedules, firewalls, etc, option #2 seems the best.

Not me. Just had a bit of money to blow on two maybe/maybe not gooners at the end.

A massive thank you to Jay for doing such a great job in the draft for LSG. A couple small tweaks for me as well, should be interesting to see if any big names get added in the next week, who ends up playing, etc. And I'm amazed to find the draft already completed by this morning -- most impressed. What does it say about the Swiss that there's no exclamation point on their keyboards?
