I've checked all the Olympic TV listings here in Canada, and the proposed soccer coverage is terrible... Other than the semi-final matches and gold/bronze matches, there doesn't seem to be any other games planned to be televised... I have both Rogers Cable and Bell XpressVu Satelite...

Does anyone know if Telemundo can be accessed in Canada??? I do have one of those old school monster sized satelite dishes as well, but haven't scanned all the 100's of mostly non-working channels in search of Telemundo yet...

I'm going crazy here just thinking that I won't be able to watch some Olympic soccer... I'm still hurting from the Portugal loss to Greece in the Euro, and I know Portugal is going into Athens thinking the same thing I am... The Greeks came into Portugal and stole the Euro trophey... The best way to somewhat avenge that loss right now is to go into Athens and take home the Gold Medal... Not to mention it'll hopefully silence my Greek friends who are still celebrating the Greece win...

CBC, the Olympic network in Canada, is NOT showing any soccer:

TSN, the other sports network besides Rogers Sports net on basic cable in most of Canada, tho maybe not in Quebc where RDS is on basic intead I think, is showing soccer starting at the quarterfinals, because it is subcontracted out by CBC:

NBC affiliates (some of which are available on cable in Canada) are showing the american women, but Telemundo has the men's games "with an emphasis on Mexico and Argentina".

Telemundo is not legally available in Canada, but some of the bars have illegal decoders. How much interest in the Olympic matches in those soccer bars is up in the air, unless you are in the ones that are particularly interested in Italy, Greece, Portugal etc.

Good luck!

We do not have telemundo but we do have telelatino which has Italian and latin American programming (at least in Toronto we do). I have no idea if they will be showing olympic soccer but they did show the entire Copa America tournament and all of the games played by Italy, Portugal, and Spain in Euro 2004. The game between Spain and Portugal in Euro 2004 was played live on Telelatino (if i remember correctly), while it was on tape delay on TSN. I enjoy the Italian comentators more as well. I'm not a big fan of the repeated GOL! GOL! GOL! GOL! *cough* GOL!....

I don't think TLN will have it. I subscribe to their newsletter, and so far there is a gap between the Copa America and the resumption of Serie A (in Englssih) in September. Will alert if change.

TLN is just about on basic cable right across Canada, except for Quebec where it has to be subscribed to for extra, except for limited areas of Montreal.

It was reported in today's G&M that there will be NO coverage of Olympic soccer until the quarter-finals. Olympic broadcasting on American cable channels will be blacked out during the Games (don't get me going about the stupid CRTC...).

Basic NBC we can get....

Bottom line, you're SOL until the quarters without going black market. On the up note, I'm sure there will be lots of synchronized swimming on the CBC and CBC Country Canada is showing live equestrian!?!....
