I wondered if anyone was interested in exchanging records about young players that have a lot of potential. I will start myself with a player from my home country. The players must be under 20.
name: Vincent Kompany
place of birth: Brussels
nationality; Belgian-Congolese
capped: yes
age: 18
club: anderlecht
position: centre back (or defensive midfielder)
strong points: heading, anticipation, tackling, passing, coaching, long ball
weak points; showing a bit of arrogance lately, wrong judgment of the ball sometimes
wanted: vague interest from ManU and Marseille
appearing in: CL (if they make it past Benfica)
prizes won: Belgian championship 2003-2004

Van den Borre!
I think Van de Borre isn't as talented as Kompany. He will be a good player for Holland or Belgium, but I'm affraid he won't make it.
Mitea and De Ridder are really talented, I agree.
What to think of Vonlanthen?

Lukas Podolski...if only he played for Hertha and not for silly second division Koln. Can't believe we're still playing BOBIC.

i am VERY impressed with vonlanthen, and he is a player that swiss don't have - he is going to be an excellent player for a lot of years

he is still in the process of earning a regular place - HSC have a deep striker pool, but he has scored a few very big goals to keep them up last season... they are usually spectacular efforts, as well

I know Faris Haroun has a lot of talent. He is 18 and bosses the midfield for RC Genk. Let's hope they won't bench him because they have bought some players. Another one is Jonathan Legaer, only sixteen but already in the Anderlecht first team sometimes as a right winger.

How about Francesc Fabregas, or Cesc - 17 years 3 months and made an assured premier league debut for the English league champions. Looked one of Arsenal's better players, winning possession, distributing quickly and accurately, and making excellent attacking runs. Could be a class act in the Spanish midfield in several years.

thanks guys, some questions:
1. Is Carlitos a first team regular at Benfica?
2. I've heard the brothers of Collins John are even more talented. Do you know anything about them?
3. Are those Drost brothers really good?

Carlitos is injured so he didn´t have yet an opportunity to play this season, but I guess he will not be a regular starter.

Norwegian striker Magnus Myklebust(19), moving from Hødd FK to Lillestrøm SK after season end. Very strong and fast player (Rooney styled player) with a good shot. Will probably make a name for himself in LSK.

Bruiser what do you think about Karadas? He went to Benfica but he doesnt look any good to me.

He used to play for Brann before he went to RBK. He's a versatile player and
is strong in the air. In RBK he sat on the bench most of the time, but came
on and scored some important goals, like the two against Inter in the CL two
seasons ago, or the one against Benfica in the Uefa-cup last season.
If he gets to play enough and get the amount of confidence he needs, he will
prove to be a important player for Benfica.
