I have two specific questions, both which I have searched for and gone through the other huge thread on modifications.

1.) I'm thinking of painting the outer sole of the boot, aka the bottom, which probably receives the most friction even from running around, is nail polish a good idea? I heard that stuff never comes off unless scraped or something.

2.) I bought some gold pace vapors, will post pics soon, they are slightly duller than the Mercurial Vapors but still cool nonetheless, is there any substance I can rub on them to make them appear more shiny? Looking for tips and tricks from boot lovers and experienced folk :D

umm, well if you want something safe on leathers and something that gives shine to cleats, try polishing them with just whatever color shoe polish, and then taking a rag to them and shining them by rubbing the polish in vigorously. It will not only re-color the boot, but also will give it the shiny appearance of new leather. However, when you do polish them, and shine them, they need to dry and absorb the stain, because if not it will just rub off, so give them a good 6 hours.(overnighter)

Thanks for the replies. These are synthetic leather for sure, so I'm not sure about shoe polish, as they usually come in black, the closest to gold is brown

Vaseline might be viable as I read in a different thread, what about baby oil? Any brand/kind OK? It won't make dust or grass stick to my boot eh? :D

1. no matter what you do, it won't stay.... it's just not feasible to paint your sole.
2. there are some "finishing" sprays you can buy from arts and craft stores that will give it a "patent leather" look
