Ibisevic a signé

Can someone translate the whole thing? I get the main point, but I dont understand everything. I get he signed, the papers were transffered over, and that the signing means he can play and Pauleta can sit out..what else?

What you understood sums up the first paragraph.
The second is "his preparation (Ibisevic's) isn't complete, Halilhodzic
admits to this and says "he hasn't lost everything in 2 weeks,
he isn't starting from scratch". The PSG is done hiring strikers,
"unless something exceptional comes up". The neo-pro Franck
DjaDjedje has been lent to Brest (second division)".

And, on an unrelated/side note: there are a lot of Bosnians in
my area of town, right here on my street. I know a lot of them,
including my best "buddy", Senad, who's from Sarajevo.
We jokingly call our street "little Bosnia" ;)
All this to say: I know what they went through and this kid's
story brings a BIG smile on my face. So, here's wishing him
good luck, becoming a great player and maybe being able to
help Bosnia's national team.

From today's L'Equipe:
http://www.lequipe.fr/Football/20040731_161901_01.html

Basically, Ibisevic was only given a 6 months temporary license
to play with PSG. If Paulo Cesar were to return from Corinthians
(Brazil) early 2005, PSG would have one too many non-EU players.
(Cesar is on a loan at Corinthians).
PSG has 6 months to solve this problem.
(I have to believe they already know the answer...If they signed him,
this is already planned).

Just to understand:

A license to play in France and a contract are two different things? So they signed him to 3yrs...but that license situation needs to be solved??

I agree with you, if they signed him to three years, they will work that out or already have an idea what to do anyways.

Well, the club signs contracts, the commission is a national
one which will approve these contracts and give licenses.
That's my understanding of it.
In this case, the commission would be taking the "cautious"
decision of giving a temporary license and wait to see how
PSG will handle this problem (one too many non-EU player if
Cesar were to return from his loan early 2005)
Cesar could maybe stay on loan or he could return and then maybe another
player would be lent, etc. There are many possibilities, I don't know
what PSG's management has planned.

Thanks...that makes sense. I'm sure they have something planned, or they would have not signed him to a 3yr contract! (as you mention as well)

One little detail: I actually do not know wether this commission is a national
one, or EU, or UEFA?. I am assuming "national" because, as far as I
know, different countries have different rules when it comes to
this matter.Ultimately, it doesn't make a difference (just wanted
to point this out) and PSG knows these rules better than I do ;)

They had his name during the first-half and it was replaced by
Pauleta's later on. Maybe they had started with the info. as well.
