Philippe Mexes' agent admits Arsenal and Manchester United have long been interested in the defender - but insists he is not set for a move to the Premiership.

Reports suggested the 20-year-old Auxerre defender had been in close contact with United manager Sir Alex Ferguson, receiving letters and Christmas cards as well as a United shirt with his name and the number six on the back.

I know where Manchester United can go stick those letters and Christams cards. Right up Sir Alex Faggyson's buttocks. This stunt is like American college football recruiting. It's rediculous.

I'm not an Auxerre fan I'm only rooting for them because they are playing in Europe now and I root for all the French teams to do well there. Seeing Auxerre and Nioe atop League 1 bothers me I'm waiting for Nantes to rise to the top of the standings then I'll be happy. Bastia is a waste I wish they played in Italy.

Sportboy ..... do you think the recent expsansion of the 1st division has watered down the quality of play at all , or are for the idea ?

I myself think it has put a fire under the top clubs to start producing a better product.

I don't think the quality of play has gotten worse I didn't like the 20 teams at first but I've gotten used to it now.
