Just vote for your favourite league out of the 3 heavyweights!
it is very hard to decide for me. the premiershis's games are faster pased, but the players in la liga have better quality and more flair!
(ps sorry if its been discussed before, although i couldnt find it)

I'd go for la liga. My choice is merely based on the presence of Ronaldinho.

very true!
you have zidane 3 times fifa world player of year, including this year....therefore the best player in the world, and then dinho , the air(spell?) to his thown!! possibly to become the greatest player of all time!
and that isnt mentioning all the other big names in the league (mostly reals 'galacticos')
tip/ if u dont already, just watch ronaldinho in action week in week out- fabulous sight! nothing in the English premiership or Serie A can even come close to something that aesthetically pleasing! :)

la liga is fun to watch, with all that cheating them bastards do, when they get tackled they make a right meal of it.
never the less premiership is leagues ahead of all them 2, it has the best sides in the world, best players(just look how many internationals went to euro from the premiership) and the best competition.
ronaldinho is class but for christ sake, he aint the only player to decide whitch is the best league, or favourite.
premiership all the way, Henry is far more entertaining than ronaldinho.

plus the premiership is the place to be, with all the top managers in the world coming here, we already have Arsene Wenger, Sir Alex Ferguson, now jose mourinho and the new liverpool boss.
Any way Real madrid are far too overrated, there team is full of olh has beens, yeah there class but, there on the last legs. old i tell you:
zidane 32
figo 32
beckham 29
carlos 30
plus they have a bunch of 28 year olds. what team are they going to have when these are gone?
Arsenal would beat them 10 times outa 10, same goes for any top 4 premiership team.

You wouldn't be talking about the Arsenal team that lost to Dynamo Kyiv, got blown out by Inter, and couldn't score at Lokomotiv Moscow, would you? Win a couple of ChampsLeagues, then you can start running your mouth about Real Madrid. We have 9; Arsenal have never made a final.

man utd vs Real how did that end??
dont Arsenal struggle to make it out of group stage against European opposition?
my pick is Seria A, smart soccer, the best league simply because those from spain and england strugge here.

No offense but my homosexual alarm momentarily went of just there. I think what you meant to say is that the talent and flair of La Liga is appealing to the eye which I completely agree with. However thats not to say that other leagues dont compare:
Kaka, Totti, Nedved, Pirlo, Cassano, Veron, Davids, Stankovic, Rui Costa, Del P., Di Michele, Nakata, la la la la and the list goes on. "Aesthetically pleasing" is all relative but the players I mentioned and many of the ones I didn't may re-convince you that there are leagues other then the Spanish that can put together some tantalizing displays of football.

the EPL all the way!, not only does it host the world's best players and exciting (RVN,Henry,Owen, Rooney, C. Ronaldo, Kezman, Drogba,Giggs, Baros,...) but its very competitive, even more so this upcoming season. Every year, it hosts awesome games, and breathtaking goals, saves,etc..
Seriously, those of you that think La Liga is the best because of Ronaldinho, you cannot be serious, no one player determines an entire league..As great as Henry is, he won't force me to say that the EPL is the best. A league is made up of more than one teams, and those as a whole determine the league..All English teams are strong and determined and provide their best week in, week out..One may say to me, "I've seen an EPL game, and it was boring"...every league has its fair share of dull matches, but you cannot tell me that the players didn't give their best, that they didn't fight til their last breath to win the game. Therefore the English Premiere League is the best in the world! :D

european compition provides a good indication as to how good the leagues are because that is the best the league has to offer and EPL teams traditional fall short when they meet their spanish or italian counterparts, Arsenal are a good example they dominated in England but struggled to make it out of the group stage in CL.

i agree with most of that.
i don't actually watch a lot of la liga and hardly any serie a, but i'd say the EPL 'coz it doesn't let the players run amok (like la liga, which is sometimes scary, to be honest) and also in EPL, even the lower teams are really fun to watch like leeds, spurs, etc.
anyway, it's wrong to say la liga is great JUST b'coz of one player... what happens if he goes to serie a or EPL?
that's my 2 cents :D

*yawn, here we go again*
EPL has the best sides in the world? When is the last time the Euro champion was English? So the EPL had a lot of players in Euro.....great....most of them played for mediocre Denmark and Sweden. Liga and Serie A have a lot of South Americans which as you should know DONT play in Euro.
The EPL is certainly entertaining, but in terms of sheer quality I find it rather shallow. A lot of the goals scored in the EPL would never happen in Spain or Italy due to far better defenses and keepers.
Henry more entertaining than Ronaldinho? Well, to each his own...

exactly. the best players, the best teams are in liga. because the english prem is very physical that does make a lot of the games more exciting. many of us english complain about football becoming a game of flair, and the contact being taken out!!! well for those people all i have to say is to follow rugby instead! football was made for the ronaldinho's, not the roy keane's (dirty bastard)
liga all the way.

While my favorite is the EPL, i know it's not the best league in the world right now........
"The Big Five" (this is how i would rate the big European leagues and the reasoning behind it)
1. La Liga... right now the most skilled and keenly contested league in the world
2. EPL...history, passion, fire and physically the most challenging
3. Bundesliga...always developing good players, but sometimes can't hold on to the very best
4. Ligue...The best youth systems in the world(Rennes, Nantes, PSG...) but hampered by overall lack of cash
5. Serie A...once the best league in the world but now is barely contested and plagued with boring play, corruption, and cynical fouling, diving, and play-acting.
if Dutch league was more of contest, i would rate them as one of the big five instead of Serie A

Amount of Champions leagues won by Arsenal: 0
Amount of Champions leagues won by Real: 9
Anyway my opinion - The EPL is the most exciting league of the three but by far the inferior in terms of quality. Why do English teams do so bad in europe if they're best league in the world?
Btw, has their ever been a more overrated player than Henry. EVER?

I voted for the EPL because it is the only one that I get to watch on a consistent basis. I've just got GolTV so I'll get to see more of La Liga and Serie A.
Also, I think that this poll ought to list the other leagues as well... Teams from Portugal, Germany, France, and the Netherlands win European silverware.
What I enjoy watching now...
1. EPL
1. Bundesliga
3. Serie A
4. La Liga
5. Eredivise
6. Ligue 1

Favorite league and best league are two different things altogether. I would suspect people in England would say the EPL, while those in Spain would say La liga, Italy the Seria A, etc. Also, you cannot base it on one player, you can maybe base what your favorite league is based on one player, but not what the best league is. Also, how you define the word best also comes into play. I like La liga, but also admit that the EPL is very exciting. We have compared leagues on these boards a million time and we can do it a million more and never get everybody to agree.

I follow the EPL mostly, then La liga and then Serie A. However, in temrs of quality of football, the epl is not too great. It's sometimes all pace and no finesse. In terms of quality, a match between Espanyol and malaga would be ten times better in terms of quality to blackburn versus Liverpool. But despite this EPL games are very entertaining and the atomsphere in my mind can't be matched IMHO.
