What is the status of Carlos Tevez? Is he staying with Boca? Any news that he might go to Europe? Why or why not? It seems to me he's more than ready to go. Am I missing something?

Why does he want to go to German football?

Why not the Spanish league? No language problem then. There are a lot of South Americans in the German league though.

I don't know why Barcelona aren't looking at him. IMO he is much better than Luis Fabiano and could link up well with Saviola. We could have Argentina's future attack on our team.

Non-EU problems. We had Riquelme..once we officially get him and Rochemback off the books.. we'll be ok.

well luis fabiano is a goal scorer. tevez is a good finisher, but he wouldnt be utilized best as a lone striker. he is better as a withdrawn/2nd striker.

He's way too young to be shipped off to Europe and also he's still developing at Boca which is good cause there are still visible aspects of his game which could use some tweaking. Ofcourse he'll be a great discussion topic in another few years because IMO (along with many others) he's got to be one of the most promosing prodigy's in world football as seen on countless occasions one of those being most recently the Copa America.

Boca wanted too much money from Bayern to release him. I believe it was around 18-20million euro.
Naturally Bayern backed off.

I've only seen him once but he does look like he has some extraordinary skills.

I am too lazy to find a source...but that rumour with Bayern is correct. The money seems right too if I recall.

Bayern wasn't going to spend that kind of money on an unproven foreign youngster....hence why negotiations completely stopped when they heard the money Boca was asking.

I agree. I have seen quite a bit of him in Copa America and Libertadores and he's the real thing. How old is he? You may be correct that he's too young. There are all kinds of rumors with Diego (Santos) going to Porto shortly and I believe he's only 19 and IMO he's just too inconsistent and immature to excel in Europe. On the other hand, there are some, like Adriano, who have gone very young, matured and excelled.

I also agree with the other post that Tevez is definitely better than Luis Fabiano, though they are somewhat different types of players.

he looks like a monkey... but he is a good player. i still remember the free kick he took in copa america. he has a bright future. but i still cant believe he filed suit to avoid playing for the u-20(i think) team , though.

I like ugly and scarey-looking soccer player. Ronaldinho is ugly, but not scarey. Tevez is both.
