(Props to Chico13, who first suggested such a pool. I think.)

DC United is the only team in Major League Soccer to not have attempted a penalty kick by this point of the season. So, in what game (and in what minute) will DC get it's first PK?

(NOTE: The minute will be determined by the official report of the shot, not of the foul.)

My guess: Minute 64, DC at home against Colorado, 8/11.

I say we get a PK tomorrow at Dallas, taken in minute 83.

Of course, I'm sure I will be re-entering the PK pool on Sunday with a new guess... :D

At the rate the calls against DCU are going, Talon is going to have to get car jacked and Esky assaulted in the box before they call one. I say we score off a corner AND get a PK

Not going to happen, so I'll say the next MetroScum game....

The real poll is - What Happens First in the 2004 MLS season:
(a) DC United is awarded a penalty kick
(b) DC United scores off a corner kick (they seem to be able to do it in US Open Cup (vs. Richmond) and friendly (i.e. Nottingham Forest) games)
(c) MetroStars fans stop whining about MLS not forcing Columbus to trade Szetela to them for one of their rejects (i.e. Vaca)
(d) None of the above items will occur in the 2004 MLS season

I say (d).

Today vs. Dallas, 75th minute. Adu running onto a Ara through ball..Gibbs hacks him down. Dema threatens the Ref's family, and a penalty is called.

No way Adu is going to get a penalty... I say it's today, in the 25th minute. Moreno.

Dema is gonna be there?

The only way we'll get a penalty against Texas is if our new guy plays and the ref forgets that he's been traded

We've now scored two goals off corners in non-league games in the last couple of weeks, so that drought may come to an end soon, but penalties? Fuhgettaboutit!

I wonder who'd take it...lol. If the score is 0-0 and we get a Stoppage Time Penalty..Perkins should take it. :D

It is ironic that in the last two non-league games that we score on corner kicks on players who:

* are the tallest (Hendrickson at 6'3") and shortest (Kuffour at 5'6") players on the roster

* were the most recent player signed prior to the game that they scored

Based on these facts, I predict Jason Thompson (6'1" - a giant among DCU field players) will score today against his old team on a corner kick to kill the streak.
