View Full Version : Watching our boys. . .

In America, I presume my only option to catch BVB is on Fox Sports World, who seemingly choose which Bundesliga game to broadcast at random. If, as if often the case, BVB aren't on FSW on my early Saturday mornings, I'll listen to the feed from borussia-dortmund.com (even though I don't speak German at all--I can still understand "Kollllah. . . . . . .TORRRRR!").

Are there any other alternatives for me in the middle of America? Any packages I can order? I'm just about ready to decide between DirectTV and Dish Network--is one better than the other for German football? I'd just like to watch our squad as much as humanly possible.

Danke

Unfortunately, I'm in the same dilemma. I don't know if there is a Bundesliga package to order, I highly doubt that there is. I already have Time Warner Cable, though. So that means just FSW.

Thanks. . .I have a good friend who is a BUYern fan and he always complains that we're on too much, so I guess the situation could be worse. I'd estimate FSW televised about 8-10 BVB games last year (maybe a tad more or less). Allen Hopkins is pretty solid, but Allen, please, it is pronounced:

roe - SITCH - key!!!

BVB introduced a new service called "BVB Club" last year. For 17,99 Euro (about 15 USD) a year you get several services:

- Forum (though only German posters)
- Chat
- Starchat (each week or each second week a star player or the coach is available!)
- Games (crap)
- classifieds (crap)
- Downloads (crap)
- interactive webcam
- slide shows (crap)
- video clips (of course in German):
-- 2-3 minute highlight clips of EVERY BVB match (Bundesliga, DFB Cup, UI-Cup, UEFA CUP etc.). From this season on already a couple of hours after the final whistle available.
-- press conferences (Thursday's conferences for weekend's matches)
-- interviews
-- special clips like fotoshooting, trainingscamp news etc.

IMHO: Most of the services are crap but the video section is OUTSTANDING, really. Problem, I guess, is that it is not available for supporters outside Germany.

I'll send an email to Borussia and ask whether that service is available abroad plus whether they ship jerseys abroad.

Arrrrrgh...of course 17,99 Euro equals 21,50 USD. Sorry...

Btw, I emailed the webmasters of BVBclub and have some news. Will send both of you PMs with more infos.

This whole thing stinks. FSW dosen't give a rats a** about any other leagues but the EPL like you stated the other day. The highlite show is nice but we have to at least try to fix this crap.

1) I almost laughed out loud when I read "Chemical Boys." I'd never heard anyone call Leverkusen that before. Nice.
2) At least your local cable company carries FSW. I can't watch any Bayern matches until I go back to school in a few weeks. And hey, I'm sure you can catch BVB highlights during halftime of the Bundesliga matches on FSW.
