Also we've just finished the 2003/4 season, Deco will be at Barcelona for 2004/5 and Carvalho will probably be at Real Madrid.

Carvalho has joined chlesea for 20 million, i know hes a good player same with deco and all that but its just because they one the champions league, otherwise they arent that great, deco is highly over-rated, now dont blast me for that. compared to the best attcking mid-fielders in the world he doesnt come close. same goes for that ex-porto defender. he isnt anywere in the same class as campbell, ferdinand, terry, woodgate, nest, canavaro, and walter samuel. if he was that good same goes for deco, i would of heard of him long long ago, only in the champions league i started hearing about them. and anyway some top club would of snapped them up 2 or 3 years ago.
if you ask me there one season wonders

30m Euros. About Carvalho, he's by far the best European defender. In the last 2 seasons no one passed by him, not even ONCE in a 1v1. Also, he doesnt make a foul most of the games, he's so strong in the air game, perfect in marking, nullified the other team's strikers in the CL like Ronaldo, Morientes, Nistelroy, ...
And beside that, things that most "common" suporters dont see without some analisis:
He doesnt just kick the ball away, he always puts the ball in a safe position, or most likelly will go with the ball controled and launch the atack. If he has to, he makes a few steps to gain space and then put the ball safelly in a companion, instead of kicking it right away. Also since he's very very fast, with another good defender at his side, the defense goes up in the field, making the space of play smaller and therefore making the team more pressuring and atacking.
About Deco, like i said before, 112 matches in 2 seasons?? That's insane!
His stats in this year's CL:
2 goals
6 goal assists (record)
50 fouls sufered (record)
Goal and man of the match in the final.
