We need to get as may fans out to this event to show our support for the building of the home for the Quakes.

This rally is definitely important, as is the local media attention that it will garner!

Will the players (both old and new) be there as well?

GO EARTHQUAKES!!!

Yes they will! We don't have the complete list yet, but fans won't be dissapointed.

Also, remember it's at Ceser Chaves Park in San Jose at Noon. The media attention we will get from this will be so important, which is why we need everybody to come down if they can.

This is our shot, and we CAN NOT miss this opportunity to make our push for a new stadium. It's now or never!

And regardless of the rumors you hear....we must NEVER GIVE UP!!!

Just remember, what you hear is nothing but rumors. If you heard Alexi today, I think you will all agree that he is backing the fans of the San Jose Earthquakes 100%.

Together, we can make this happen, so make every attempt to get down to the rally on August 20th.

If you go to:

www.soccersiliconvalley.com you can sign up for all of this. You'll get email updates on the rally and other information. It's important that you get involved if you want a new stadium for our San Jose Earthquakes.

Rally information will also be posted up there soon.

Be sure to tell all of your friends, fellow soccer players, and anyone else you can think of, about the website. The more that get involved, the louder we will be heard. Our voice can only be as loud as you make it.

NEVER GIVE UP!!!

I'm hoping to bring Michelle Phieffer, if she'll come. But no reply yet.

I can't be there. But I just wanted to say that the SSV logo is really awesome. Whoever designed it did a great job.

Wish I could be there with you all.

I'd like to paraphrase a quote that Don Garber made when the league contracted the Miami Fusion:

"We held a rally to gauge interest and 200 people showed up. If 2000 people had shown up, we might have reconsidered (contracting the Fusion)."

I think it's VERY clear what sort of turn-out we need at the rally on August 20th!

And, while we expect that the chance to make a difference by showing your support for a new stadium is enough to get most of you to attend, we will also add that there will be the following additional incentive:

FREE FOOD!

(It's a lunchtime rally, after all...)

So get yourself over to http://www.soccersiliconvalley.com and sign up.

Yeah, but...gauging interest by counting heads at a rally in the middle of a weekday/workday in the midst of the August holiday season seems grossly unfair to me. Fortunately for my family, we will be back from vacation earlier that week and will plan to be there and to bring as many as possible...do dogs count?

do dogs count?

Can you dress it up in Earthquakes blue?

Is that a Friday? That pretty much limits it to people who live in the San Jose area or who are able to free up a whole Friday to attend the rally.

I guess I'll have to be there in spirit.

I'm really hoping I can make arrangements to be there. Right now, everything looks good and I think I should be able to make it.

That's a good idea. I'll do the same, too.

I signed up too... with a Santa Cruz address even though I'm in Japan. I hope SSV and my friend don't mind.

...And the logo is GREAT...

Has anybody contacted Dylan Hernandez, Dwight Chapin, or Ann Killion about this (or any other Bay Area reporters?) I know these three write about the Quakes, and this is (sadly) the most pressing issue facing the club -- this is easy press coverage.

Anything I can do from Boston, let me know :)
