Does anyone else's HS have unlimited subs and reentries?? I don't like this rule. It slows the game down too much. There were some games this past season that we had atleast one sub on almost every dead ball.

during my high school season, if u get a yellow card at any point in the game u have to be subbed off. thats the gayest ruling i have ever herd.
It was liked that when I played. I also like wearing large shinguards and can't stand those small ones you just slide under you sock, the large ones just feel more comfortable to me.

Yeah we had that. It was pretty fun when the coach couldn't make the games and a random teacher just showed up cause you need a "coach", we would just sub eachother when we felt like it because the interim "coach" didn't know soccer at all and since we killed almost every team that year it didn't hurt our record. But when we had an occasional close game the subs were more reserved and only a few people came out and game back in (usually they sat for 5 minutes to get some water or jjust rest).

why do you want to pull the shinguard up anyways? the 2 inch rules says it all and were meant to be there for a reason, you aren't going to be kicked higher, so what's the point of pushing it higher than 2 inches anyways? explain explain
2 inches above the shoe is uncomfortable(somtimes.) for me its uncomfortable because wen they go that low they tend to go down all the way to my foot... but also, what are teh chances of being hit in the shin? most of the kicks are at the ankles or feet.

maybe get tape to keep it up, or buy a shin guard with ankle support

The shin guard crap is the least I had to worry about as an inner city coach here in Houston. We have the same bs sub off when carded crap, unlimited subs, clock runs down from 40 and a bunch of other U.S. additions. I tried to explain to the AD that if we are going to play like this it would be equal to asking other nations to play baseball with 5 balls and 4 strikes. It's about integrity for the sport Sir. That got them thinking but not enough to get motivated and demand FIFA rules from the UIL board in Austin. I mean FIFA sets a standard that govern the entire planet!
As gridiron football is near religion down here I couldn't even get the Atheltic Director or his staff of redkneck association football haters to mark the f u c {ing field right. The width was just beyond the gridiron 55 yards and the PK spot was off!!!!!!! It was like playing on a bowling lane. No wing play was possible.
The refs we had were beyond a joke. Our season in the South is usually in the winter (as to not conflict with the previous religion in the fall) so it's 40 degrees and raining and the Stadium operator rednecks wouldn't let me and my boys use the dressing rooms even at the half. Water was left out from last weeks game. They wouldn't turn on the scoreboard claiming....and are you ready for this..."it costs to much money." Tax payers fund the public HISD school district yet because they just don't like soccer they HATE it and want to kill it at every turn, that was their answer.
With all that said there are 8 men from Houston in MLS now. Eric Quill was two years behind me when we battled and my inner city district has outclassed the suburbian giants to go to state representing Houston 3 years in a row. No other sport can even touch that stat in HISD and yet instead of pulling for the underdog (which IMHO is the core value of our nation's sporting psyche) the haters continue to sh!t on THEIR OWN SCHOOL DISTRICT'S success.
I told the proud Texas rednecks the last day I coached that if they are Texans than I am ashamed to call myself one!...that one got me escorted out of the stadium by the campus cops. Oh well amigos, I had my say.

i have bad luck with tape. it always comes off during the game. and when i wear sleeves the guards also tend to slide down(and its worse with the 2 inch rule). and ones with ankle support are feel uncomfortable and restricting.

What kind of tape do you use? Dont use the athletic tape it is crap. Electrical tape has always worked for me.

i just found out about another crappy rule.. for the playoffs, you need a certain kind of ball, and it's wilson. i know this part is true. then my coach said that if you're in the playoffs and dont have those balls, you get disqualified... i hope he was joking when he said the second part.
