I just passed 2 different Chivas Billboards on my way to lunch... they are so good at marketing themselves...

I don't think I've ever seen a Galaxy Billboard... And Billboards are all over here in LA.

Good question... They are in Spanish and I was driving... 1 was a Coors Billboard.. I guess they're a sponsor.. the other was just plain Chivas love...

They weren't the first I've seen here in the valley .. both were in Mission Hills ,

They know how to market their soccer. I think other teams will follow their lead to some extent when it comes to marketing. I bet SJ fans would of love to see this type of marketing for the Quakes.

Absolutely!

Heck, we'd even settle for any type of marketing for the Quakes.

The billboards must be for the Coors Light 2004 Chivas Rayadas Summer Tournament.

Here in Denver, we have Rapids posters on city buses, a couple billboards and on Invesco Field overlooking I25. Cross promotions are also going on between KSE's other teams. Avalanche, Nuggets, Crush, Lacross team, Grand Prix racing. I think it is already playing a part in the Wednesday attendance increase this year. 12500 and 13000 respectively.

If it is a Coors billboard with Chivas logo or player, it is most likely paid for by Coors and not Chivas. Coors wants people to look at their billboards and realizes for the demographic that they want to reach, that this may be one of the better ways to do it. I haven't seen any of the "just Chivas" billboards yet. I would be interested to hear from anyone who sees them....

Yeah, these certainly are not for Chivas USA, and they have been around for about two years in some areas. They reach to the extreme edges of the L.A. market. There's one along I-215 in Fontana. For you L.A. County folks, that's in the San Bernardino area, on your way to the ski resorts in the San Bernardino Mountains.

Oh, no, we know where Fontana is. We just call it "Fontucky".

And, yeah, I've seen one of these billboards at Santa Monica and Bundy in West LA. It's Ramirez, but it's just normal Chivas, not the USA derivative.

Given the demogrpahics changes, shouldn't it be "Fontuckilandia"?

You are fortunate. Here, there are Earthquakes posters on the back (not on the side) of a few buses and... well, that's about it. :(

Chivas billboards are nothing new. They have been around for years now. Its sad that The Galaxy has the ********iest marketing campaign

Maybe they'll get a clue and start mass marketing when the Goats do theirs, and I do believe the Goats will market heavily.

Chivas del Guadalajara is hundreds of miles away in a different country and they have more publicity than the Galaxy here in Los Angeles. Just imagine what will happen when Chivas USA gets here.

There's a Chivas Billboard at Hollywood and Vine too.
