Well Pasha's idea was to play a head to head league with a draft. I believe that the Premier League site only offeres salary cap games.
Exactly! Had there been a head-to-head league set up somewhere (like Fantasy NHL on Yahoo), I would have just gone there instead of reinventing the wheel :-)
I don't know what sort of formations we would allowed but playing a formation with as many forwards and defenders as possible would be advantageous in this format.
That is reasonable. Perhaps we should do a 4-3-3 formation instead of a 4-4-2 one.
And yes, most midfielders aren't that worth that much... but neither are most defensemen in fantasy hockey... c'est la vie :-)

there will be a total of 32 games
then the top 6 teams will play a cup with the last 6 games of the premiere season
any comments ideas questions?
If we have 8 teams, it would make more sense to have a 35-game regular season (each team plays everyone else 5 times), and then playoffs:
quarterfinals (Day 36 of real EPL): No 3 - No 6, No 4 - No 5
semifinals (Day 37): No 1 - No 4/5, No 2 - No 3/6
final (Day 38): semifinal winners

the list repeats itself so its basically like this
1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8
9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16
19,20,21,22,23,24,
so the person with the first pick gets 1,9,19
person with 8th pick gets 8,16,24
it should be a snake system
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8
16 15 14 13 12 11 10 9
17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24
this is more reasonable
manager 1 gets 1,16,17
manager 8 gets 8,9,24 and so forth
whoever picks 1st will take henry and then for every round they get first pick is amateur
Without a doubt, we will have a "snake" system!

well the problem is premier league doesnt allow registrations if we want to follow Pashas idea of not having the same two players on one team
the idea is that someone will pick henry first and then that will realy not be fair what would be fair is that a random person gets henry...

Yes, we do :-) Of course, we won't go to premierleague.com.
the idea is that someone will pick henry first and then that will realy not be fair what would be fair is that a random person gets henry...
Well, the order of selection will be determined randomly (by a draw), so that a random person WILL pick first overall (whether he'll pick Henry or not is up to him).

i dont care who gets the first pick and takes henry i just wanted to make sure the draft was a snake shaped
now the whole premierleague.com thing--i recommended it because its easier
i mean half the people will start being lazy and what not because they will have to post their teams rather than the teams being displayed as on most fantasy websites
also you have 8 teams and all 8 make the playoffs--how much motivation is that to pick up players and transfer them when you know everyone is in the playoffs
besides by using premierleague.com--you can still post

g-h
and the team with the highest score wins it can be done but some1 will have to post those results here

premiere league will not be doing the 04/05 season I dont like the layout i like the simple text choices premierleague.com is not the same format and its not what were trying to do were trying to be original...

How hard is it to list 11 players once a week? Or just indicate a couple of changes (if there are any) from last week's lineup?

No, of course all 8 won't make the playoffs. I was thinking about 4. At most, 6. At first, we need to know how many managers we'll have.

I'd prefer several sessions (like 4 session, 5 rounds each) in the last two weeks before the start.

Well, so far only two of us have "officially" confirmed our intent to play. You're welcome to be the third. If we get at least eight teams, we WILL play.
