Panamá. La Selección Sub-20 de Panamá sorprendió ayer a la de México y la derrotó 2-1, en un partido de trámite de las eliminatorias de la Confederación de Futbol para el Mundial de la categoría, que se realizará el próximo año en Emiratos Árabes Unidos.
Aunque México y Panamá se clasificaron por adelantado en la segunda jornada de la cuadrangular, donde Guatemala y Cuba quedaron eliminadas al perder sus dos primeros encuentros, el partido sirvió para determinar el primer y segundo lugar del torneo.

A dramatic penalty three minutes deep in stoppage time - the second of the game for Panama - gave the host country a 2:1 victory against Mexico and the title in the Group A final of the FC Under-20 Youth Tournament on Sunday.

Group B of the FC Under-20 Final Tournament will be played this week in Charleston, South Carolina USA with the hosts battling Canada, El Salvador and Haiti for the two remaining CONCACAF places for FIFA World Youth Championship United Arab Emirates 2003.
All four teams have undertaken extensive training in anticipation of the event.
Caribbean Zone representatives Haiti, who qualified after defeating arch-rivals Jamaica in a two-leg series in September, have spent the past month preparing for the tournament in Argentina. They played six matches, including contests against reserve sides from CA Boca Juniors and CA River Plate.

Goals by Wyn Belotte (Norkopping FC), and Elliot Godfrey (Watford FC).
USA 2 - Haiti 0
Goals by Ed Johnson (Dallas Burn), and Santino Quaranta (DC United).
Canada and the US can clinch WYC spots on Friday if they win their respective games.

Canada scored goals on either side of halftime, defeating El Salvador 2:0, while hosts the USA out-muscled Haiti 2:0 to leave the teams tied atop Group B of the FC Under-20 Final Qualifying Tournament at Blackbaud Stadium in Charleston, South Carolina.
The top two teams in the group will earn the final CONCACAF berths to the FIFA World Youth Championship United Arab Emirates 2003.

A ten-man USA defeated El Salvador 1:0 on a late own goal, while Haiti and Canada played to a scoreless tie on the second day of matches in Group B of the FC Under-20 final Qualifying Tournament at Blackbaud Stadium in Charleston, South Carolina USA.
The victory gives the hosts six points through two games and one of the two remaining CONCACAF spots to the FIFA World Youth Championship 2003 United Arab Emirates, with the final spot still up for grabs in the final day of matches Sunday. Canada, who will face the USA Sunday, are the front-runners for the second spot on four points, followed by Haiti with one and El Salvador, who have yet to get a point.

Haiti only did half the job, 2 to 1 is not result needed. Canada really has to screw up that one not to qualify.

Canada and the US both qualify for the U20 WC next year in UAE.
