The gastada is making fun of your rival ... it is indeed the essence of argentinian football folklore. Will ask those posting to try to explain the meaning of the gastada they are posting ... this to help those non-Spanish speakers to understand not only the translation but the "behind the words" meaning.
Will start with something I came across today:
San Lorenzo Fans at Velez' Fans

San Lorenzo is one of the big 5 clubs in Argentina. Their derby has always been Huracan, but the latter has been for many years in 2nd division. Fans of Velez, another team from BsAs, have been trying to create a rivalry with San Lorenzo, as they really don't have a derby (some consider Ferro or Chicago their derby- but both have been for the most part in 2nd division in the last decades).
So Velez fans rub on San Lorenzo's the fact that they have won a Libertadores Cup, something that San Lorenzo hasn't been able to do (the only of the big 5 that hasn't won a Libertadores).
Velez's fans claim to be the 6th big club in Argentina ... and since the other 4 big clubs have their derbies among them: Boca vs River and Independiente vs Racing, they do everything posssible to "gastar"(make fun/provoke) the San Lorenzo fans. Indeed, trying to make a rivalry (and with time a derby) out of the provokations.
In this poster, San Lorenzo fans remind Velez's fans that the number of fans the club has makes it a big team (not the # of cups won)
Translation: "Always Visitor Athletic Club ... Always Visitor at Liniers (Velez's stadium)"
