Bridge might not be able to go.
Rock Cruz is banged up, both may be a blessing in disguise IMO.
Toure's good.
Ade's good.

Should be a much better and perhaps cohesive squad then what we saw last week. I mean Kompany was a bit of a mess, and Rocky was spinning at 33 and we needed him at 45.

I really think we just need to sit Ade and Tevez down and say "your the strike force, get to know eachother, maybe get a pint with Bellamy. Take some English classes. Play a little Fifa 10. And get the F8ck going."

As for Burnley, I thought Stephen Jordan was Great when he was here. Not like he played great, but just a generally serviceable defensemen who would do a job for you at LB. I mean there was a time whether it was either him or Ben Thatcher and I hated that dude before the Trainwreck.

Being the eternal optimist... I predict a draw.

Just Remember this always: D is for Diploma!!

We need a win, and we need to be beating the likes of Burnley anyway.
Looking for Ireland to really assert himself.

I am looking forward to this match. Should be a chance to showcase our strengths and hopefully improve our weaknesses.

And, as a particular positive point...

Stevie will be starting today!

We needed them to pack it in anyway... that's when we play our best stuff!

It just took two goals scored for them to do it

Can we just release Bridge now? That was ridiculous -- the whole team just went to sleep after 80 minutes... We need a new left back, and De Jong needs to always be in the side.

It's what we deserved.

This match had tie written all over it.

I will say this... what Wayne Bridge Gives Up on Defense, he doesn't make up for in Offense.

and Hughes really hasn't a defensive braincell in his head

We should have signed Taye Taiwo when we had the chance. Bridge doesn't seem very athletic to me or tactically intelligent enough to be a class defender that we need at left back. It was a disgrace to go down 2-Nil to Burnley at home, Hughes really needs to examine our lineup and make some changes. Credit to Burnley who weren't intimidated and played out of their minds. Really not looking forward to the Liverpool match, hopefully international break gives us a bit of a refreshing, lets hope for no injuries. Lescott, why would you go up to block a cross with your arms up like that? This is elementary stuff.

Keep going back and forth between Lescott and Bridge as to which I think performed worse. Right now it is Lescott. Why spread your arms out like a goal keeper in the box like that? -- it was almost as bad as De Jong's handball. But the one that really, really angers me is the 3rd goal. If you see a replay from behind, you see Lescott not running, not jogging, but walking towards the penalty area. Meanwhile, the goal scorer, who just put in a cross, is making a bee line towards the post and runs right past him. Isn't a central defender supposed to be the penultimate line of defense -- shouldn't a central defender be responsible for making sure no one is unmarked in the box? It's like he and Micah Richards switched brains.

I have no problem with a team that makes mistakes -- it happens. One of the things I love about this sport is how imprecise it is 80% of the time. But to lack effort to me is an insult to sporting behavior. When Barry gave the ball away for Burnley's second, he just did a slow jog back towards the penalty area. That is criminal! You, Gareth, just gave the ball away, doesn't that bother you? Don't you feel a little responsible for the turnover? And on the second goal, Zabaleta just lets the goal scorer waltz in towards the back stick without tracking him. Isn't the backside defender, almost always the left or right back, responsible for making sure no one sneaks in there?

Oy vey, there is a lot of work to be done with this team.
