nirvaanfc, given your connection to T&T, perhaps you can shed some light on the Dwight Yorke controversy? What really upsets me is that Blues management have come out and said Yorke can leave if he wants--what?! Look, there was a time in English football where if you weren't English and you weren't white, there was a distinct lack of "friendly" teams to support. Blues were one of those clubs, and back in my (dark) days of living in Birmingham, me and all my colored friends (the Pakistanis, the Blacks, the Chinese) in school supported Blues for this very reason, and hated Villa all the more because of it. Yeah we got stick for supporting Division 2 Blues, but we knew diversity was supported both on and off the pitch at St. Andrews. Is B'ham City regressing?

Well for starters, i'm INDIAN (as in ancestors hailed from India) but in T&T the population is about 50-50 Indian and African!

I actually supported Birmingham because of Stern John, whom i hold in high regard. Yorke is probably T&T's most talented forward but since the heady days of 1999 treble season with Man Utd he has become a LAZY player.
However, the recent spate of RACISM in football is downright shocking!

The IDIOTS at Bernebau in SPAIN take the cake for the England-Spain game.
Luis Aragones is a fool as well, while i too do not like Henry (not because he's black but rather cuz that bastard shat all over himself at JUVE and now wants to be the called world's best player, dream on)

However, the Racism hasn't stopped.
At Real vs Leverkusen UCL game, Roque Junior was racially abused, but what disappointed me most is Ronaldo and Roberto Carlos (countrymen and fellow national team players) did NOTHING to stop it even thoug the BERNEBAU is their home stadium.

Yorke at Blackburn i feel is more a case of Blackburn fans just wanting to give Dwight an ill-willed return to his former club. That said it was wrong, but the management stance is absolutely atrocious.

Every BLUES fan should tell that Bastard president where to stick it. That was the most ridiculous and assinine comments i have heard EVER!
Yorke ill treated and then told he cud leave, they should have stood up for him, but from what i hear its only mgt playing the fool as Steve Bruce wants to press criminal charges!

I agree--management's position is beyond the realm of reason. Look, if they're unhappy with Yorke's performance, then sell him. What upsets me is their clairvoyance about racism. Folks, racism is a disease--it doesn't matter if it's one fan or 20,000 fans; if left unchecked it will destroy you. I just hope Bruce will stick up for his players.
