Not looking forward to this one either, except for the fact that van Buyten and Muller will be back in the squad...

HA! That says it all really. Not really much to be excited about regarding Bayern this season is there? Unless Ribery and/or Robben play this team really doesn't do much for me.

Not really looking forward to this either... Yet once again I will watch it and hopefully will walk away not being disappointed this time.

In the past, I have always been optimistic before bigger games in the CL and BL, no matter what kind of slump we were going through. I always had the feeling the team could get their shit together when they had to. I do not have that feeling now, not going into the Bordeaux game, and not really now.

That being said, I am not completely pessimistic about this game, I have hope the players will rally and fight, but I will not be shocked anymore if that doesn't happen.

This will be the next low point: the blind fish Kuranyi scoring against FCB, Neuer raping the Eckpfahne again.

Schalke couldn't come at a worse time. The last thing we need is to play against a defensive minded team that is actually of decent quality and well coached. I expect big trouble in little china...

This whole season is like a freakin' car wreck....you can't look away. You drive by and slow down and keep looking, hoping to see a damn body on the side of the road. Much the same here....you know it's nasty but cannot make yourself look away....

I will enjoy this match as hopefully it will be Van Gaal's last.

completely agree. I think FSC said a similar thing (Train wreck). well. Just as someone have said before. This blind scroll might just find some nuts from the sky and saves the season.

There is no easier team to defend against than this Bayern side. I can imagine Schalke scheduling 2 hours to review recent match footage of Bayern, but calling it a day after 5 minutes, during which time they have come to the following conclusion: "To neutralize the Bayern attack, it is critical that you . . . . . stand . . . . around".

You're right, its too easy to stifle this team. And just about any average side can look like a great passing team against us, it's sad. We pretty much take ourselves out of the game, players are afraid to take on players and take initiative. Sometimes they look like scared clueless kids.

MvB said the team cannot be criticized for trying in the second half but if that was the team trying its hardest....well....what the ******** are we doing here folks?

they were able to slow down teams that had been scoring a lot in Leverkusen and Hamburg. I can only imagine what they will do to Munich.

Yea, at least ours is only a bad two car wreck. The one in Hertha Berlin involves 18 wheelers, gas tanks and toxic resin.

Here's the script for the Schalke game:

We will have a ton of possession. It will create almost no chances. The fans will hiss and boo. We will make several good chances that will somehow fail to go in through bad finishing and/or luck. Schalke will score a goal on the counter due to an idiotic defensive marking lapse. Schalke's organized team will yawn as we pointlessly pass the ball back and forth in our own half. We will continually have miscommunications and terrible passes that go nowhere. The camera will pan to a smiling Felix Magath on numerous occasions. The AA fans will begin leaving with 15 minutes remaining. LvG will state that he liked the way we played but we failed to take our chances.

High noon - Part one for LvG!

How many points will he need out of the next 6 league games to save his ass for the 2nd half of the season?

My bet:

- Schalke - 3p
- Leverkusen - 1p
- Hannover - 3p
- Gladbach - 3p
- Bochum - 3p
- Hertha - 3p
