A Cub fan, a White Sox fan, and a Cardinal fan are driving through downstate Illinois when their car blows a tire. It's getting late, and the repair shops are closed, so they decide to ask a local farmer to put them up for the night. "Sure", the farmer says, "but I only have room for two of you. One of you is going to have to sleep in the barn with my horse and chickens."
"Fine", says the Cub fan, "I'll volunteer to sleep out there". After fifteen minutes, there's a knock at the door, and the Cub fan walks in. "I can't do it. The horse smells awful and the chickens are annoying as he!!. There's no way I can sleep out there." So the Sox fan goes out and tries sleeping in the barn. Once again, there's a knock at the door after fifteen minutes. The farmer opens the door, and the Sox fan walks in. "You were right, the barn smells filthy and the chickens never shut up. I don't see how anyone can sleep out there". Reluctantly, the Cardinal fan goes out to the barn to try to get some sleep. Predictably, there's a knock on the door after fifteen minutes.
It's the horse and the chickens at the door.

Albert Einstein arrives at a party and introduces himself to the first person he sees and asks, "What is your IQ?" to which the man answers, "241." "That's wonderful!" says Einstein. "We can talk about the Grand Unification Theory and the mysteries of the universe. We will have so much to discuss!!"
Next, Einstein introduces himself to a woman and asks, "What is your IQ?" to which the woman answers, "144." "That's great!" responds Einstein. "We can discuss politics and current affairs." Finally, Einstein goes to yet another person and asks, "What is your IQ?" to which the man answers, "51." Einstein immediately responds. "How about those Cubbies?"

Hitting the nail on the head.
Especially considering 80% of Cubs fans don't know ******** about baseball. They aren't even there to watch the game. Wrigley Field is moer a biergarten than a baseball stadium. Its pathetic.
Mets fans aren't long and suffering though, they are just **************s.

You're right about Wrigley. I've been to a few games since I came to Chicago and can't get over the lack of atmosphere. Even in the bleachers, it's corporate yuppies who sit on their cell phones the entire game. It's a beautiful park, but it has no life.

I've been to lots of baseball stadiums, but nothing quite compares to Busch.

I actually thought Busch looked better than I thought it would. I expected to be appalled by a cookie cutter type of stadium, but they went out of their way to re-do it, and I think it stands up quite well. Note: I was there the last weekend in 1997. It didn't hurt that the place was rocking, even though both teams had been eliminated.
I've heard people say that Card fans were among the most knowledgable, but most Card fans I've met aren't any more or less knowledgable than any other group of fans. And about the cellphones: They're everywhere, folks. I don't like it, and I turn mine off before I walk into the park, but when I went to Camden, there were as many, if not more, cellphones in use there than in any game I've been to at Wrigley. That, and every all three doubles down the left field line (I had first row) resulted in dead ball, ground rule doubles because the fans were concerned with getting a ball, and could have cared less whether the ball was fair or foul.
Every team has knowledgable fans. Every team has dumb fans. For the record, if I had to pick the "best" group of fans based on my ballpark experiences (Denver, KC, ST. Louis, Seattle, Milwaukee, Detroit, both Chicago's, Cleveland, Pittburgh, Baltimore, and Atlanta), I'd say the best fans are in Seattle. But that's my opnion based on a few games.

If God wanted to give the Earth an enema - he'd stick the nozzle in Wrigley Field.

Real good game tonight---fell just a little bit short. Other than a few games I've only seen the Cardinals when they play us, but they seem to make their hits count, draw key walks (Womack had an awesome AB to lead off the 8th), and catch everything in sight. You feel lucky when a ball barely touches the edge of Rolen's mitt and goes into left for a hit.
Joe Brinkman had a generous outside corner (and he stretced the zone a bit low too), but he called it all night for both teams. I thought he did a great job behind the plate. And, as much as I like Zambrano, Brinkman was absoltely right in running him after he hit Edmonds the 2nd time. Sometimes you just get beat. Be a professional and move on.

Thanks Hang.
But c'mon, you don't think there's something a little wrong with throwing batteries at JD Drew, no matter how F*ed up leaving for St. Louis was?

At least BoSox fans are knowledgeable.
Occasionally bitchy and 'why us?', but we know our baseball.

Yeah, Tuesday was tough. In today's game (especially v. a team that can hit like the Cards), you have to keep adding runs one at a time, even if you have 8 on the board after 3. Of course, what do I know, I'm a Cub fan, so I show up to drink beer, talk on my cell phone, and check out the women (whatever).
If it makes you feel better, we lost the championship game by a run on Wednesday, and we lost tonight by a run. I'd rather get smoked than lose by a single run.

His Christian values told him not to sign for less than he was worth, my christian values told me to throw batteries at him.
