$3.5M, with incentives that could raise it to $5M

I believe it was for the whole contract. His base salary for his first contract (1998-2002) I believe was $280K per year.
What's the point? Does Bruce ask how much YOU make?

Bruce would have to give a crap about somebody other than himself and his p[layers.
And frankly, he doesn't.

Considering I pulled those numbers out my ass, take your pick.
And before anyone asks, no federal tax dollars go to the USSF (or the USOC for that matter).
The only point of this exercise may be to compare his salary with other national coaches.
And even THAT would be a stretch.

i don't know how much bruce makes
but he flies me out to virginia every two weeks in his private jet... once there i mow his lawn and do other handiwork around the house... trim the bushes, paint a bedroom, fix the garage door... you'd think the jet ride would be cool, but stoner's the stewardess and never lets you sleep, he keeps fricking checking on you and seeing if you need something, asking how your day was, if you saw him working the sidelines at some obscure college football game and all this other crap i don't need
bruce did threaten to fire me the time i got on the roof to clean out his gutters and knocked out all of his satellite dishes, but i blamed it on frankie (who was holding the ladder)... i thought frankie was going to die... i had never seen bruce so mad in my life
but the next time i came in, bruce had a brand new in-ground pool and frankie was there teaching bruce how to swim... everything seemed back to normal between the two
it's cool... i get to call bruce by his first name, well, actually i have to call him "the bruce" but his first name is there
i remember the time mathis came over with brownies, bruce thanked him and saw him on his way, then threw out the brownies... frankie dug them out of the garbage and ate 'em... i'd never seen frankie so messed up

So what does Little Benji's room in the basement look like?

On a related note, here's a question that's been tumbling around in my head for awhile...
How much do national team players make, and what is it based on?
Let's say a player gets called into camp, but doesn't make the final roster for the game. Does he get paid anything?
Let's say Gaven sits on the bench the entire game on Sunday. How much does he get paid?
Do all players get paid equally, or do vets get more moolah?
Just wondering.

kenny and frankie share a tent outside... but they have to take it down every morning and put it back up in a different spot each night... bruce doesn't want them killing the grass
kenny use to have a room in the basement, but bruce turned it into a trophy/guest room (for claudio)

I understand Arena signed a new deal late in 2002. It was for four years with a base of around 750K per, plus he gets some fat bonuses for qualifying and for advancing in the World Cup.
As for the players, they get about 3K for each game they play with the national team and more if the games are qualifiers. They also get some pretty sick bonuses the better the team does in the World Cup. I understand the players in Korea made about 250K each for that run.

They get an appearance fee for games that they play in. It is based on a collectively bargained contract. I read several years ago that they get something like $4500 per game, plus $500 if they win. The numbers may be different now.
Let's say a player gets called into camp, but doesn't make the final roster for the game. Does he get paid anything?

Only players that play in the game get the appearance fee. If they are in camp or even on the bench but don't play, all they get is a per diem for the days they are with the team.
The exceptions are tournament bonuses. If they qualify for the World Cup, all players that were on the game-day 18-man roster for any qualifier gets a bonus. I think last time it was something like $50,000 for a player that was on the roster for every qualifier, and players got a fractional share of that total based on how many games they were on the roster. Then the big payoff is making the World Cup finals roster. Every player gets a nice sum based on how far they advance. I think last time they would have got just under $1 million for winning it all, but for getting to the quarterfinals still got a nice 6-figure sum. There also can be bonuses for other tournaments depending on the prize money offered by the organizers.
Do all players get paid equally, or do vets get more moolah?
Everyone is paid according to the same scale.

it's approximatly 1 Million per year. Grant Wahl wrote an article about him sometime after the world and thats what he said anyway. That his EARNINGS approached One Million. I actually remember starting a thread about this and comparing him so some of the College Football and Basketball coaches.
Just for fun, Sven Goran Errickson makes approx 4 million pounds per year.
