All the sumer signings to be ready for these games....

UEFA Cup group stage begins tomorrow and Middlesbrough enter with as good a chance as any team of advancing.
This Middlesbrough team is finally starting to play like the well assembled bunch of very good players in the EPL and are moving up the table. Now the challenge is to move up the European ladder.

Hopefully the run in Europe doesn't end at this group stage, while if things move as they should hopefully qualification for Europe next season will be won by league placing this year.

4th place in the league in late November and a win against a UCL contender.

Maybe, not saying to get carried away but maybe Boro should raise their target because it seems that realistically with the boys getting back to full fitness, and if they can continue playing well against UCL contenders Arsenal 3-5, Man Utd 1-1, Chelsea 0-1, Liverpool 2-0, Newcastle 2-2, maybe UCL place a 4th spot target is within the realm of possibility?

At season's beginning i'd predicted a finish of between 6th and 8th spot, and i would still take that position gladly at season's end, but 4th spot can be achieved in my opinion!

4 games over busy christmas schedule!

Missing men:-
Mark Viduka
George Boateng
Ray Parlour
Egu Ehiogu
Stuart Parnaby
Chris Riggott
Gaizka Mendieta

Included in run-in game vs Chelsea!

Up-hill challenge! If Middlesbrough can come out with anything more than 6 points it should be counted successful!

There's talk that Andy Van Der Meyde might be coming from Inter Milan. Dutch right midfielder

That would be an impressive buy indeed.

Steve McClaren LOVES his dutch boys doesn't he!

Van Der Meyde would provide a very good scoring threat out of midfield, something i don't think Zenden is doing enough of and Downing is better assist man!
Goals from midfield could galvanise a UCL push!

6 pointer with Man Utd. on the horizon!

Maccarone has joined Siena on loan for the rest of the season after a dissapointing time at Parma.

Giorgios Karagounis would have been a brilliant signing if Boro cud have netted him.
He's the kinda player Boro is missing to score more regularly!

We miss George Boateng, Amdy Faye would be a good signing to cover for him whilst he's out.
